Cute cozy cooking game. I like the variety of recipes that has you using different ingredients.
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
This is neat! feels very cosy indeed. Would have loved a little pop up whenever a new decoration gets added and once all have been collected. Otherwise really love the cooking mechanics!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the feedback. The reward system was finalized in the last few hours and we still had some tasks on the list so naturally things will get overlooked. But I agree that we should’ve made it more clear when a reward is granted, otherwise the average player might not even notice until the screen gets crowded. Especially with the sliding window mechanic.
ah yes hats very fair! I do think the reward system adds a nice touch and a subtle hint of progression so i think its good you made time even to only implement a basic version of it. and yeah the sliding window mechanic was great! really loved being able to see both the 'cooking scene' and 'customer scene'
Peak cozy vibes! It made me hungry in the best way. Everything was so responsive and felt so *good* to do. Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience! Well done!
Thanks! Glad you liked it. I had a craving for dumpling during the whole development process 😋
I enjoyed the game. It was very cozy, and the art style reminded me of something, maybe a game or a TV show from my childhood. Very nice!
Thanks! Glad you had a nostalgic connection.
OMG THIS WAS LITERALLY THE BEST GAME SO FAR :3333
Your art is so pretty :333 and there's a lot of ingredients for a little game made in the span of the jam, there's like 3-4 different types of tea lol, I loved it :333
The sounds are so relaxing, the little details of seeing the customer look at you as your prepare their order, being able to manage multiple at once, it's all just so awesome, this is the best game, I love it :3333
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
We tried to pay a lot of attention to detail with the customers.
If you look closely, there’s a lot of re-use of art and game systems, hence why we were able to ship this much in three days. I’m happy that the game is being perceived as being bigger than it actually is.
Great job!
Thanks!
A really cool and cozy game—I liked it and got hooked for half an hour.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
I’ve seen a few other games of this sort among the submissions, and every time I’ve felt stressed by having a timer without enough time to learn the recipes. This game is brilliant ! It really is the definition of "cosy" that I’ve been waiting for. Really good game !
Thanks!
Yeah, since the jam literally had “cozy” in the title we made it an explicit goal to keep it stress-free. There isn’t even a failure condition.
I’ve played copious amounts of Overcooked at the behest of my wife. If you’ve played then you know how stressful it can be. Especially when aiming for four stars. This game was designed to be the polar opposite of that.
You know, every time we think we have an original idea it turns out to be one-of-many. Cooking/cafe games in this case.
Very nice submission! The overall vibe of the game was super cozy and I liked how many different recipes were included in the game (pretty crazy for such a short time frame!)
Thanks! It actually looks like more work than it was because of how reusable the drag-and-drop system was.
(And we did cheat a little by copy-pasting recipes with a single ingredient difference 😇)
Great game! Fits very well the theme and its set in a very relaxed pace, great work with all the UI and instructions for 3 days its amazing!
Thanks! Hopefully you found the instructions intuitive. It looks like more work that it was since the dragging and dropping uses a lot of reusable components.
An incredibly cozy game with simple controls and a really lovely art style!!!
Thanks!
Super cozy, chilling vibe. I feel like I wanna make some tea now :D
Thanks!
Looove. Beautifully designed and cozy as can be. Nice work!
Thanks!
fun well built
Thanks!
Awesome entry to the jam, well done! Is there an end state or does it just keep doing? I think I served 8 recipes.
I absolutely love the art and music, they compliment each other so well to wrap the whole thing up and make it cozy.
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
There is no end state. The game keeps going indefinitely, but if you unlocked the lantern with our logo on it (screenshot) then you’ve collected all the rewards.
The music is actually recycled from a previous jam we did recently. Which was coincidentally also a cooking game. (Still composed in-house tho)
It took me a minute to figure out where the kettle needed to line up to pour out hot water but once I did this was really cute and cozy! I like how it gets slowly more festive as the night goes on and you make more food and drinks for people. Makes me look forward to when it cools off here more to have tea on a cool night :)
lol sorry for the spam comments. itch kept glitching out and making me do captchas repeatedly so I thought my comment didn't post until I refreshed and saw it posted like five times (I think I fixed it at least)
No worries. It happens to me, too. Usually when I do things in the wrong order, such as:
Thanks! Glad you liked it. The lighting is my favorite part, too. I just learned how to do it a few days before the jam by stumbling across a random video on YouTube. (Perfect timing)
You nailed the cozy feeling! Lovely visuals and effects. Only suggestion that I can give is to make the recipe be visible somewhere without having to click on and off.
Glad you liked it.
Thanks for the suggestion. I suppose we could’ve rendered the recipe hints on the left in a persistent manner as opposed to needing to invoke it via a button.
