The new Investigation system once unlocked sharply dropped the max speed sharply (I think it was about 1280-1400?) As i cleared the individual investigations the speed the game could handle running at slowly increased. It also did not drop as more stages were unlocked, which makes it seem like it was checking every stage all the time regardless of if it was possible for anything to be assigned there yet.
