I'm not going to lie; seeing people get outraged and angry over the slow development of a free high quality game that hasn't received a single quid from them is quite funny.

(+11)(-1)

faking 2 time the lauch of the 1.9 , 60 days of telling its at 70% and earning 14k every month ? And not even an excuse he just say every time that we are inpatient and not greatfull from a " solo " dev , bruh eh just need to tell the truh or to mayby be more active about the devloppement

Hello there,

missing a release (which yes, it happened a lot of times before) is one thing, but is completely different from "faking release". Also the fact some people keep bringing the "oh he earns 14k a month" is tiring:

1. No, he does not, Patreon takes a part and if you want to say the earnings is 14k, be sure to divide it properly, artists are not cheap and there are other developers in Arvus games. And none of that shouldn't even be questioned when the game is fully free.

One thing is complaining or getting annoyed at missed dates, other way different is trying to insinuate "milking", which is what some people is trying to do.

(+4)

Are there really other devs at Arvus? It feels strange when no other game gets updates. Honestly, it feels like things are being covered up, leaving us with vague answers that don't clarify anything which is why I think the community is getting so frustrated, especially as the wait between updates keeps growing.

I'm not complaining about the content itself its been great but it's tough to keep the community united when communication is mostly kept to Discord instead of dropping official updates on Patreon, where the majority of supporters actually are

(-1)

Minor expositions are given on discord only when is not major information. All important information is given in all 3 places, except for "extra" sneak peeks which are a single or 2 images and thats posted on both here and discord.

About having other devs, the last big post on Patreon started by advising a new dev has joined. Roundscape is in production but unlike starmaker, it will be releasing its act 1 completely.

(+14)(-1)

There are many supporters of the Starmaker Project actively subscribed to the Patreon and plan to buy the Steam version of Starmaker Story when it releases.  Many other adult game creators post progress reports or give periodic updates of the progress of their games, this is NOT a big nor exceptional ask. Couple this with the fact that the 1.9 update was supposed to be released April and has been postponed indefinitely leaves people justifiably asking questions for more tangible updates.  Just because some freeloaders are bitching and moaning in the forums doesn't excuse the lack of info or communication from the creator's side. A literal "I am working on UI features for a new system and minigame, I will be working on it for about x amount of time, I will update you with any updates or foreseeable delays."  Instead we are hit with "its coming soon" or "I can't give out any more info" etc.

(+12)(-1)

100% agree with you. And moreover just because i mentioned that there is no efforts from devs on posting on social media like X or discord i was kicked out of discord.

They absolutely cant handle any cricism of any sort. If there is delay and if there is low efforts in communication from the devs then instead of addressing it these people are giving illogical justifications and excuses.

I mean how difficult would it be to say that "yes we will try to put out more info and have open conversation in the future" . But due to a massively inflated ego they cant address a simple ask.

I have waited patiently long enough. And if its getting delayed a bit more then that is also acceptable but whats not acceptable is the attitude these guys show and their approach of hiding progress or giving information.

This shows the lack of accountability and ownership they have for their own creation.

(+1)(-7)

Hello there,
show me when you were removed from Discord for an actual "constructive criticism", because actual comments and conversation is done and users are not kicked. Making a joke that has been heard about a million times and trying to be funny by making snarky remarks about social media posts is not "mentioning there is low effort in communication".

To the point of how difficult it will be to have a more open conversation in the future, this was already advised it would be handled better for the next project. There is no "hiding progress, Kal shows teasers every now and then and the teasers are also post here, again, communication can and will be handled better BUT if you see a teaser of a minigame, reworks, and characters you should be able to conclude thats been worked on... but I guess is easier to say nothing has been said and is just ego.

It's a fine line to walk, I for one welcome teasers, but also don't want to see too much so that the new playthough will feel super fresh and I can discover things on my own. Would be cool with a % update ever so often though even it's hard to get a feel for it for Kal. 👍

Hello there,
Yes, there are Starmaker supporters actively subscribed to the Patreon and plan to buy the steam version, but that picture don't really show that, Starmaker is not the only game Arvus has, many people come from the Adorevia time and has stayed supporting for that long, others are there for Eclipse and of course a lot for Starmaker as well. "I will be working on it for about x amount of time" doesn't really help because: 1. Kal does a lot of "out of the blue" things, and 2. He also does other things.
Again, yes, communication should have been better but is not radio silence since the last update and progress has been shown.

(+5)

I am going to be charitable here. I understand it must be difficult and time consuming to juggle multiple projects at the same time and satisfy everyone, its not going to happen and you can only do the best that you can. I also understand how difficult it is to be the middleman who has to bridge the gap between the developer(s) and the audience in forums and discord, it's a big task. However, please don't minimize what my post is about.

 1) A common response for people asking for more frequent or substantive updates is that "the game is free bro, stop crying." The screenshot is to demonstrate that many supporters of this game have financially supported this project AND ArvusGames generally, that is something you admit yourself.

 2) My criticism is that on the creator's side there has been very poor communication regarding release dates, updates, and timeline related goals for Starmaker, that is just a matter of fact. You're response is that Kal is disorganized and is 'biting off more than they can chew' development wise. Again, I understand and hear you, but that is 100% self imposed. Nobody forced an April release date, for 1.9,  nobody forced multiple games to be developed at the same time, every timeline and development decision is on the creator's side, not the supporters.

3) Thank you for acknowledging that communication hasn't been the best, and you are right, it has not been complete radio silence and progress has been shown.

Again, no ill will towards you or the developer(s). All that I and a lot of the community ask is for more transparent and straightforward communication. If there is a delay, just say so. If there is a higher priority fix on another game, say so. That is literally 10x better than the "i can't give more info" "It's still around x %" "it's coming out soon". You'd be surprised how many people would be content and still supportive with just that.

(+1)(-5)

I am not trying to dismiss the intent of your post or the validity of wanting better communication. However, I want to clarify a few key points that are inaccurate in the post:

  • The image attached displays total membership and financial data includes legacy supporters dating back to Roundscape, not just active subscribers dedicated exclusively to Starmaker. Using that image to "show" current support levels for just Starmaker is incorrect.
  • While communication has certainly been less than ideal, work is actively being done, and progress has been shown multiple times. The main post in this line has been edited 5 times since the initial posting 60 days ago, the latest couple edits showing a new invitation on a known minigame, 2 brand new minigames, and a rework of a minigame that alone in a month covers a communication of what has been worked or is being worked on so while is not a literal new post it shows the work.
  •  Much of the frustration surrounding phrases like "coming soon" stems from a misunderstanding of the release window, which is set for 2026. People get annoyed by missed deadlines, which is fair. Then the date is set for a year and is called "delayed infinitely", which is incorrect, is a year just like many other NSFW and SFW game set as well.
  • Regarding the first point, neither Arvus nor Kal has ever actually made those kind of statements, making it a moot point to bring up as a critique of the communication.
  • While nobody forced an April release, much of the frustration stem from a desire for a rigid, immediate deadline rather than accepting the stated 2026 window. Experience has shown that it is far healthier for the project to maintain an open release window than to provide an incorrect, overly optimistic date that ultimately leads to further disappointment.
  • To address the sentiment of "If there is a delay, just say so"—the delay was formally communicated back in April. At that time, the target was adjusted to release this year. Because 2026 is still ongoing and development progress continues to be showcased, there are simply no new delays to announce.

Constructive feedback regarding communication is completely fair, but it is important that the discussion remains grounded in accurate information, actual developer statements, and realistic development timelines.

(+1)(-5)

You guys keep bringing up the 14k thing over and over again. That money isn't for Starmaker, it's for the development of Roundscape Eclipse which has a whole team working behind the scenes.

(1 edit) (+7)(-1)

So you're saying exactly zero people who support Starmaker are not or have not subscribed to ArvusGames?

You're saying exactly zero people can support Starmaker, Roundscape Eclipse, and ArvusGames.?

You're saying exactly 20.2k people are ONLY subscribed for Roundscape Eclipse reworks?

(-4)

There seems to be a miscommunication regarding the point being made in the post (if it was indeed to say Starmaker has no importance or backup I retract and that information is incorrect, Starmaker is loved and supported by a lot of members)

To clarify:

  •  The argument was not that Starmaker supporters do not exist within the community, but rather that the overall Patreon funding primarily supports the dedicated development of Roundscape Eclipse.
  •  Using the "Popular Posts" screenshot as proof of subscriber bias is misleading, as those posts are simply listed in standard reverse-chronological order based on their release dates.
  •  That exact screenshot highlights how much more communication and how many content updates Starmaker has received compared to Roundscape while the latter is being developed in the background.
