Games exported as .exe files need to be digitally signed (a way to identify the developer). Why is this? .exe files can perform all sorts of tasks—such as blocking processes, downloading files, or collecting data—so if a file turns out to be a virus, the signature reveals who created it; this is why the game might trigger a false positive.
