Made solo in 7 days in godot, I'm really proud of the effects like the rain and sparks and skidmarks but I definitely know I have much more room to grow with the gameplay and visuals especially

OKAY, THIS STORMY RIDE HOME HAS SOME SERIOUS ATMOSPHERE! 🌧️🚗🌊🔥

The rain, lightning, sparks, headlights, skidmarks, and dark road all work together really well to create that desperate feeling of racing home before the storm gets worse. I especially like how the lighthouse gives the journey a clear purpose you're not just driving to the finish, you're trying to bring the light back when it's needed most. For a solo Godot project made in 7 days, the visual effects are genuinely impressive.

The driving and bouncing car make the journey fun and chaotic, but I think the controls and collisions could use some more polish. A few invisible collisions or getting stuck near walls/water can make the harder sections feel frustrating rather than challenging. A more forgiving reset system and cleaner collision geometry would make the experience much smoother.

REALLY COOL STORMY JOURNEY WITH A LOT OF POTENTIAL! 🌧️💡🚗🔥 GREAT WORK GETTING THIS TO THE FINISH LINE WITH 25 HOURS OF DEVELOPMENT! GOOD LUCK WITH THE JAM! 🎮✨

Thanks for the feedback! Really glad you enjoyed the atmosphere, was the thing I'm most proud of!

Nice game, i dont know but it looks like a PS1 game, the music the art, with a ps1 shadder will looks amazing.

The game is funny, interesting and hard XD

i get stuck in a the sea when the car lands in the corner and cant get out even with the R button, anyways was really fun and good to play very good game.

Developer

I didn't think of adding a pixel shader, nice idea! Yeah the reset button was not a great addition lol, much more work needed

nice job ! relly difficult to drive but the bouncing of the car was fun ! need a little bit opf polishi but overall was fun to play ! good job !

Developer

Glad you had fun despite the jank!

Cool ride, but tricky to control. The steering is brutal and is hard to control and sometimes the car veers in a direction on its own pushing you to adjust constantly. I also crashed in a couple of invisible things in the middle of the street.

Overall a solid entry, it just needs some testing and polish.

Developer

Yeah the controls and collisions are certainly the weakest points! Thanks for playing!

This is a cool game with a lot of potential, but I think it could use some polish.

The driving model felt cool! The car jiggled around and each time I jumped it felt really satisfying... at the start of the game at least, because once I got to the narrow bridge I needed to be super careful- now each time the car took to the air I ran the risk of landing in the water. Also- twice I crashed into something I couldn't see. This didn't make me fall into water, but it would be hella frustrating if it did.

The graphics were alright, especially the lights and particle effects really did their part.

The sound was good too. The backing track amplified the sense of urgency.

Over all- pretty cool!

Developer

Thanks for the great feedback and I definitely agree, much could be done to improve and polish the game. Glad you enjoyed the driving, only really got that dialled in in the last 2 hours of the jam! Collisions definitely have issues but glad they didn't fail or ruin the experience. Thanks for playing and the kind words!

Simple and polished game. Good work!

Developer

Thanks!

I really liked the concept of this game. The visuals are very cool, and I especially enjoyed the music because it fits the atmosphere and makes the experience more immersive.

Regarding the gameplay, I think the movement feels great overall. However, I noticed a few issues at the beginning of the game. There was a part where I could climb onto the walls, and when moving backward or driving around, the car could move through areas that felt unintended. I am not sure if this was part of the game's design, but it felt a little strange.

Developer

Thanks for playing and the super specific feedback!

Good game, I really like the visuals and vibe the game goes for. One thing I noticed is that after going fast for a while, I would hit an invisible wall, aside from that it was a really fun game!

Developer

Yeah I tried to fix it but couldn't figure it out on time, thanks for playing!

Really cool game! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, especially the rain, the road, and the overall stormy vibe. The 3D work is also really impressive, especially considering it was made in just 7 days. One thing I noticed, though, is that at first the game was absolutely destroying my PC. I also had a few moments where the car seemed to get stuck on the walls, but other than that, I really enjoyed the experience. Great job

Glad you enjoyed the atmosphere! Yeah I have no idea how to optimise tbh as it was my first time actually using any of the effects that are on offer by Godot, my 5 year old laptop with integrated graphics was not loving my own creation either lol! Definitely some collision issues to fix but glad you had fun

Really cool to see another driving-based take on the theme. The whole thing has more of an “imminent disaster / race against the storm” feeling than a traditional journey home, but I think it still works.

The strongest part for me was the atmosphere. The headlights, rain, water, road, and general stormy presentation all come together really well, especially for something made solo in 7 days. It feels like a project where a lot of the value came from experimenting with different 3D systems in Godot, and that experimentation definitely shows in a good way.

The main rough spots I noticed were collisions and audio balance. In the canyon I sometimes felt like I got caught on the wall even when I didn’t look especially close to it, and the impact sound when hitting a wall or rail was much louder and more abrupt than the rest of the mix.

Overall, the 3D work is solid, and the atmosphere carries the experience well.

As someone who also went with a driving game for this jam, it was fun seeing a completely different approach to the same general space.

Thanks for the feedback, I was very happy with the effects I ended up with! I think the collisions are actually small issues with the floor geometry? I tried to fixed it but had basically no luck as I made the custom road tool and it was very much a code mess! Thanks for pointing out the collision audio issues, I tested it in a loud environment so was probably not the best practice. Cheers!

Makes sense! I’m brand new to 3D myself, so I can’t offer much on the geometry side 😅 Glad the audio note was useful though. Really enjoyed seeing what you built.
