Honestly, guys, I need to vent about this new devlog because after 3 months of complete silence, this short text feels like a bit of a letdown. We aren’t pushing the devs or rushing the release—we all want a high-quality game and are ready to wait. But getting a couple of paragraphs that boil down to "it’s gonna take a while, we are making Jerri" after a 90-day blackout just doesn't feel right. If this was a 1-month update, it would be fine, but for 3 months? It’s way too brief and lacks any real substance about the actual progress. Also, the promise of more frequent news was broken, and it sucks because we aren't asking for the final game right now, just for proper communication.

What bothers me the most is their development strategy. Why focus on Jerri right now? He is literally the cherry on top. He’s incredibly complex, and his mechanics affect not just the player, but the other dolls too. Injecting him into the game at this stage makes the whole development cycle unpredictable. It seems like the team lacks a clear roadmap. They should have polished the remaining dolls first—some of them only need final tweaks and tuning. It would be much faster to finish them up (like 2 dolls per 1-2 months) and drop them as fully functional enemies in separate, polished patches. Instead, when devs scatter half-baked characters across versions, we just get used to them being incomplete. By the time they are finally finished, the excitement is already gone.

Jerry is obviously a nightmare to code and animate, so no wonder it’s taking forever. But because we have zero insight into how their team actually works, it’s impossible to track their progress. Right now, it just feels like they are bouncing around tasks rather than finishing what they started. What do you guys think about this?

i completely understand and i will also add onto this a little cause creepi and security isn't working 100% right now like sometimes creepi will just work fine and other times then when they get to the door they just don't do anything security on the other hand is completely functional minus the fact that when you loose one of her minigames she just shuts down your access to the cameras not the panels and since she doesnt have a jumpscare even though the text for when you fail her minigame says "[security] has determined that you are not authorized to use the security devices. please hold still while [security] comes to your location to detain you. thank you for your time." and then no jumpscare happens and the fact jerri is being worked on and the other dolls i had just talked about arent getting the touchups needed to be functional kinda feels lazy least to me i get everything in this game is hand drawn and drawing all those frames takes time but at least they could have made creepi functional and make security have her jumpscare (even though her description says "failing too much will result in a game over") it shouldnt be that hard

Dude.. This is a whole truth nuke, I hope they appreciate this feedback

This comment gave me a reality check when I read it. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm sorry that I haven't been as transparent as I should be with the game's progress. Ever since the Subscribestar was made, I've been opting to be much more secretive about the game's development. But reading this comment reminded me of before I started doing that, and it was honestly better for the game's health.

I know words on a screen don't have as much weight as actions do, so going forward, I'm going to commit to being highly transparent about the game's development just like how it was before the Subscribestar. If I mess up again, feel free to yell about it, and I'll readjust.

Thank you for listening, Pastelle! I don't even have a Twitter account, but I checked your page anonymously and was really glad to see you taking action so quickly and keeping everyone informed there too. Judging by the +17/-1 rating on my comment, this was a huge pain point for many of us, and I’m glad we could have this honest conversation. Since you are open to feedback, I'd like to share two more thoughts:
  1. Marketing and Reach: If you want to grow the game's audience, it would be great to promote it more on YouTube. Setting up an official channel for devlogs or reaching out to well-known horror YouTubers to review the game (even via paid sponsorships) could bring a massive wave of new players.
  2. About Jerry: I want to clarify that Jerry was my main goal and the biggest reason I started following this project so closely. But because he is being developed so aggressively right now, it feels like once he is finally released, the main hook for following the development will be gone. It makes it hard to know what other mechanics or characters to look forward to next, and I'm probably not the only one who feels this way.
We are all rooting for the project's success. Thank you again for your openness!

While im not apart of the team, i recognize your criticisms and largely agree with your previous comment, however... This specific feedback you gave is a little questionable.

As far as i know, the developers of this game are strictly against any content of it on YouTube, promoting the game on that site exposes it to children since YouTube is a place where they can easily acess. One of the artists of the game even called channels covering it predators (which i agree with, i think YouTube channels that cover NSFW games is very predatory behavior). Also, might be just a hunch, but i don't think any horror YouTuber would want to cover LTF lmfao.

Anyways, what im saying is, the devs promoting the game on YouTube just so it can have a larger reach would be very hypocritical, especially when they've been very clear about wanting no minors interacting with the game. I also think games like Lovedoll Toy Factory are better as more niche things than popular ones, clout doesn't always bring good things.

Thanks for sharing this context! I wasn’t aware of the developers' strict stance on YouTube or their concerns about minors accessing NSFW content. That’s actually a very respectable and responsible position for an adult game developer to take.

My suggestion about YouTube was purely from a standard marketing perspective to help the game grow, but at the end of the day, it’s entirely up to them. If they prefer to keep the game as a cozy, niche project to protect the community, I completely respect that choice. Clout definitely has its downsides. I was just throwing out ideas as a fan, but they know what’s best for their project!

You can easily check discord to see what's up, you are exaggerating a bit

(+4)(-2)

"Ok, so, basically none of you actually check Twitter or the Discord for devlogs. That's fair enough cause Twitter is dogshit and the Discord is, admittedly, kind of hard to get into for some folks."

I don't get why would it be hard to get into, just click

The Discord server requires ID verification to ensure no minor gets in the server. Discord is also in hot water rn thanks to the recent age verification update, so you can imagine alot of users are detered from it.

I think that they can do what they want. It's not my blood sweat and tears being put into this project and 99% of the time it's not a thought in my mind. so to me, they can take 30 years to create something they want to make or they could abandon the project tomorrow. my priority isn't upon the product they produce but the people that make it, so personally I see no issue with how they choose to do things.

I can see how it's frustrating and how the tasks they work on might not seem important, with results that feel unpolished but with no skin in the game, and no major corporation to hate, the amount of negativity I can direct towards this project is minimal

if i understand , they work in the order of the custom night , so rn it's jerri then security then creepi
(also jerri was already causing bugs when he was added because of the placeholder security's placement and creepi bugged him badly so making jerri now might stop some bugs later on)
also the news where more frequent , issue is it's on the discord , subscribestar and twitter(x) so not everyone saw the news and it felt like there was none but now it seems like it might not be an issue anymore since pastelle realised the problem
(i am on the tester team so finding bugs will be faster now at least)
