Very whimsical track, might be the first I listen to having some sunny qualities to it, while keeping the secret nature of the theme. All the other tracks felt like the lake at night, and I suddenly feel surrounded by nature during the day. I found it very balanced and interesting with all the stuff you added to keep it full of life. Great work, peaceful and lively at the same time, strong correlation with the theme and beautiful ambient vibes all around.

Description
A Secluded Lake
Far into the humid jungles and swamps, a traveler emerges from the tangles to find a serene lake before him. The birds chirp while insects buzz as the traveler sets his heavy bag down after several days of hard hiking. Before him is peace, quiet, and rest. The traveler closes his eyes and lets the gentle babble of the lake water and bird songs lure him to sleep. His worries vanish. His mind calms. He finds peace at that lake.
Theme: The Secret Lake: ambient
DAW: Ableton Live 12 Intro
This song was made in Phrygian Mode. The two drones come from the Bass and Cello, each playing a different note. The flute and piccolo represent birds, while the scuffles and bongs represent birds and other animals moving through the brush.

Yep, that does sound like a Symphonic Squirrel song. There is always that peaceful edge to it that invites to just stay for a moment. Concept wise I feel like you’ve done a great job in creating a calm restful atmosphere. Also with the ongoing drone beneath. However I do believe there is still much to gain ambiance wise by allowing additional textures into the song. So far you’ve nailed the motion of notes and how you translate these into the orchestra. But I think for the scope it would also need something extra that adds to that set picture in your mind, like additional sound elements or something in the mix that could lure the listener in more deeply.
A good starting point could be the use of synthesizers for additional texture. But I guess for the general vision of the song I think playing around with the production side would hold a more interesting outcome. The easiest starting points here would be delays, panning, reverb tails and modulation. For example I could hear with the piano working well with an octave delay that adds some sparkling movement on top. The drone could for example benefit of some motion with modulation like chorus, flanger or phasing. Something like the small percussions would then also work well with some reverb with modulation in its tail to create some extra texture, since they are a bit more sparse (specially with the chimes). There isn’t a set rule with things. I guess the point would be to just experiment a bit more and gaining confidence with working with them and also in straying away from the original „organic“ sound in that matter, even if the source would still be the instrument itself.

Hey EinelTheFox, thanks so much for giving it a listen and providing your feedback. I always look forward to it each time. Indeed, it does need some more experimenting with! Yah, I agree full heartily, I needed to add more textures from either synths or something else. What I gain from this is that I am improving! I just need to go the extra mile haha. I really need to spend more time on not just the instruments but how they sound. Panning and working on the reverb tails sounds like a great place to start. Again, these are all great ideas for me to think about! Thank you so much!
I feel like this one has a nice texture, but relies too much on the high range, which is fine for the most part, but IMO the clarinet would have been much more suited to a lower range (in particular the chalumeau range) in this piece to contrast the other high pitched textures... it just doesn't sound natural being played in the high range unfortunately (there is a lot of pressure required in the embouchure to make that high sound), speaking from a clarinet player's perspective.
Unfortunately orchestral pieces are a bit tougher than electronic pieces to pull off as you have the additional challenge of understanding the mechanics of the instrument and how air pressure would move through that instrument in order to create something more convincing, which can be very difficult to do, especially if you don't play said instrument.
This feels a little to simple for what's usually submitted with the jams in a lot of aspects. It's not bad at all, but it seems sort of just like your met the challenges and didn't quite really build around that aspect.
Yeeees, I love that minimalist approach – it sounds light and welcoming.
You never really know what the next sound might be, but you know it’ll be calm
The sound selection is brilliant especially the reverbed piano
Really dig the submission, nice one!
Some fun ideas in this one! Love the percussion throughout, keeps everything feeling more energetic than it would without. The flute that pops in every once in a while is a little plastic sounding to me and a timbre shift could help blend it into the same world as the other sounds (maybe just midi automation as i'm seeing others say now). Great work!
This feels like a positive spin compared to a lot of the submissions so far. It's nice to have a moment that feels like earnest curiosity. Definitely could use a little polish but was definitely enjoyable. I hope I can one day share the traveler's relief.
Not too bad, you went pretty simple on this one, normaly you go pretty big with your ochestral template but I like that you purposely tone it down. The main thing to watch for I would say is how you play the instruments, its showing alot in the woodwinds but it always stops abruptly exactly like you are playing it on a MIDI keyboard but it's not how it's suppose to sound or be played which is why it sounds slightly unatural, if you fix the way every orchestral instruments are being played using MIDI it will enhanced ALL your tracks, I mean EVERYTHING, so kee up ! I know you did not have a lot of time on your track and yet still manage to make it good job !
Thanks so much FoxHyode! I really look forward to your feedback every time. You are totally right. I did not do enough MIDI for the woodwinds! I should have. I think they were meant to be staccatos but I can't remember. Anyway, really need to do more MIDI with them all. I did it for the strings and should have done it with the woodwinds haha. That is very easy to fix anyway. Thanks for the heads up. Plus I am glad you liked it.
Yah, I went simpler because I was thinking soundscape. I actually wanted to do a song about a Monk by a lake, but didn't have the time so I ended up with this. Plus I had the worst trouble of coming up with anything! Thanks! You are the best!
This is a really nice track, and your mixing has improved a lot! The Phrygian mode works well for a hidden, humid jungle lake, and using the flute and piccolo as bird calls is a smart, effective choice. The bass and cello drones give it a grounding warmth (and I love tracks that fill out the lower end!). It leans more toward structured orchestral—which I'm always a sucker for, and the peaceful vibe fits the theme well.
Really nice work!

Interesting combination of sounds in this Submission... Doesn't sound too Ambient to me NGL, but it's still a peaceful Soundtrack overall! I think you did a good job using a lot of Nature Samples, along with how the Flute & the Strings sounded. Nicely done!
