[LFS] [Unpaid/Hobby] Looking for help with the first fantasy location

Hey!

I’m working on an early fantasy MMORPG concept built around player freedom, different combat styles, professions, crafting, trading, exploration, PvE, PvP, guild activity, and reputation.

The project is still very early, and right now I’m not trying to build the whole game. The first goal is much smaller: create one small settlement as a test location and use it as the first real prototype.

I already have a rough layout, visual and architectural references, some lore, and a few early Blender experiments.

I’m mainly looking for people interested in:

  • environment art;
  • level design;
  • Blender / 3D;
  • terrain and vegetation;
  • buildings and props;
  • lighting and atmosphere;
  • Unity/ Unreal Engine

You don’t need to be a professional. Beginners are welcome too if you’re willing to communicate, learn, and contribute ideas.

Just to be transparent: this is currently an unpaid hobby collaboration. If the project grows beyond the first location and funding becomes available later, I’d be open to discussing paid work. Meaningful contributors would also be credited.

If the idea sounds interesting, feel free to message me. I can share more about the world, the gameplay concept, the settlement layout, architecture, and the current Blender prototype privately.

Hello Emei_Jan!

I'm Zarvanskyi, a musician and composer. I checked your topic and I would like to try to make music for your project. I'm a beginner composer, and you can check my profile here.

If you're interested and want to collaborate, write to me under my topic, and then we can discuss how to communicate.

Hi Zarvanskyi!

Thank you for reaching out — I really appreciate it.

At the moment, the project is still at a very early stage, so I’m not yet at the point where I’m actively looking for a full soundtrack or music for many locations. Right now I’m mainly focused on building the first environment and understanding the visual direction of the world.

That said, I have already experimented a little with music ideas for the setting. For example, I tried creating a piece that could work as a kind of hymn/theme for Varnel — something that might be heard in a temple or important location there.

So I’d definitely be interested in hearing your work and staying in touch. Once more locations and the atmosphere of the world are better defined, music will become much more important.

If you want, I can also share the rough music experiment I made, just so you can get an idea of the direction I was imagining.

Thanks again for writing!

Establishing the visual identity of your very first fantasy location is easily one of the most exciting parts of game development. That opening hub or zone sets the entire emotional benchmark for player discovery, architecture, and worldbuilding lore. I'm Roman, a 3D modeler working in Blender. I specialize in fantasy environment props, modular ruins, stylized stonework, and nature assets with clean topology and game-ready textures. I'd love to help you bring that first zone to life by creating 1 custom 3D prop from your concept list completely on the house — perhaps an ancient roadside waypoint shrine, a tavern hearth, or a fantasy archway. Completely free, no obligations. If you'd like to collaborate on an asset, connect with me on Discord at antinarrys or email me at roman.zbor.uk@gmail.com!

Hi! I just sent you a friend request on Discord so we can continue talking there.
