Congrats for winning the Jam, team!

I had a good time with this. The dark and gruesome concept of digging up dead bodies and bringing them back to base works well for a video game, and the visuals and sound are well made, perfectly fitting the game's tone and soul of a Game Boy. Digging up bodies is simple but rewarding, with finding decaying bodies giving you money you can spend on items that help you out immensely.

The open map, time limit and deadline leaves the player open for strategy on what's the best way to shave seconds and has replay potential for those who get a bad ending. Kind of reminds me of Pikmin, but with a stricter deadline.

I did find grabbing objects difficult and the frame rate was clunky for me. Plus, I unfortunately couldn't beat the game as it froze on the last day.

But other than that, great job on this game and thanks for participating in this jam!

Wow... digging up bodies... It's so funny and gross. Very well executed.

Ok, I was really into this in every way conceivable playing the desktop version. The idea is awesome, the execution even better. Love the resource management and the intricate gameplay with multiple factors to account for that don't really go over the gameboy's theoretical limits, that jumpscare, the beautiful sprites and music.

However, I ran into what seemed like a memory leak in the second to last mission (I did the groundskeeper first). I seem to have positioned myself between Garrett's body, the wagon, and the grave in such a way that the game entered a loop? This was extremely unfortunate, seeing that this game is beyond awesome and the team did such a fantastic job of it.

Nice game!  I was overjoyed to rescue Doyle's rat.  I liked that the final level involved a tiny bit of puzzling to get the corpse out of there.  I liked the idea of trying to track down a specific grave, but quickly learned I was incentivized to dig up every single grave, which made that less interesting.  If only a tiny number of graves had loot, and there were some clues about which graves held rewards, I think that could have been more engaging.  It was fun regardless, though.  The graphics were really impressive and sound all tied together nicely.

This is one of my favorites so far!

Really cool concept, the art is very polished. The music is too good, one of the best soundtracks I heard at the moment, although the complexity in the melody personally distracts me sometimes but I really enyoyed it. The mechanics are great too!

The only thing is that I had a lot of unlucky problems while playing this game (in both browser and download version) like game freezes or audio artefacts, I had to give it a few more runs to finally complete it.

Great job to everyone involved! This game really stands out

I loved the historical setting and the situations you go through (opening tombs, dragging the body, fleeing the guards). Beautiful piel art and music !

Really fun game! The whole digging up graves for treasure thing is such a goofy idea lol, but it works really well. The art and music are great too and it really feels like a Gameboy game. Nice job :D

While I unfortunately didn't finish this one (The game crashed on the Friday, happened when the chase music stopped after hopping into a bush with two guards on my tail if that helps with debugging), I had a great time with it despite being neither a fan of the macabre nor of stealth gameplay. The music is what initially drew me to this game, but the graphics and overall presentation are absolutely top-notch as well!

Random thoughts in no particular order:

  • I audibly let out an indignant "Two quid?!" the first time I dug up a grave with valuables in.
  • Navigating tight spaces felt a bit finicky when dragging a body. It'd clip objects by a single pixel and have you let go, while not being super clear if you'll be able to make it or not.
  • As far as I know, the gameboy library is very family friendly so the first thing this reminded me of atmosphere-wise was Mina the Hollower in the best way possible.
  • The clock at the bottom was hard to read. I'd glance at it every now and then and see it was somewhere closer to a lighter segment than before, but didn't have a clear idea of how much time had passed nor how much I had left.
  • The gag with Rich Richer and Poore Poorer got a genuine chuckle out of me.
  • Lavender palette absolutely should've been the default and I will die on this hill.

Pretty gruesome, but well made game! The sprite work is really well done, and the gameplay doesn't disappoint at all. Great entry here!
