How does your game meet GBJam's theme
The main currency of the game, SG, or Soul Gold, is the amalgamation of souls that you gain when killing. I know this doesn't line up very well, but I guess this is the best I can do for now.

I think you probably need to have the controls explained. Also, I am not entirely too sure if this was runned on a actual GB rom, but the screen kind of looks like it's running on an emulator. I tried to press the Enter key, but it seemed to be mapped to the B button when I was looking at the screen device as well as the X key seemed to be shown as A button on the screen device, but the lasers only shoot at the Space Key. Also, the you might want to improve the Level 2 since the enemies ganged up on the player too easily.
i never figured out how to attack so i didn't get far whoops. interesting colour palette choice! gets a lil hard on the eyes after a while but i love when people make bold choices for their game's style. the interface is pretty cool.
Thanks! I really should have explained the controls better, but I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The interface for gameboy is a nice idea. The old school style is a pleasure to play. Well done.
The game is fun and the interface is cool !
Great job, the game had a very quirky feel to it and the music was really fun! The gun seemed to not work that well, I'm not sure if it was just me or what. So I mainly just used the knife. Also it was very easy to get stuck constantly reading dialogue.
Cool game, I agree with another commenter about how the Game Boy interface was nice. The gameplay itself was good too, I'd say add more audio, when the player gets hurt, or an enemy does, (or even draw a frame where the character is the lightest color you use, to indicate a hit animation). The Player sort of blends into the background, because they have the same color. Playing was a bit confusing at times; I kept getting teleported places. A Ui cooldown animation for the weapon would have been a good idea too. But, the music was spectacular, and the game graphics and gameplay really did fit the theme of gameboy. Nice work !
Thanks! I will try to implement that later!
The game boy interface was a nice idea!!
It was built in from the program I was using, and I guess it was a happy accident. Thank you!
