like the staircase to go back down is replaced by the one on the first level where it leads to the storage

Do you mean there are no stairs down to floor 2?
And the frontdoor lever is pulled down at the same time?
If so, I think the issue is that the lighthouse floor blocks off the stairs when you open the frontdoor to outside, when the switch is down and sign says "lighthouse", that is a bit of a bug I forgot to fix for this update.
