This game might be almost the best (if not the best) looking game in the whole jam.  The sheep are so adorable and the background is stunning for a game made in one weekend.  The gameplay is super intuitive and very fun.  I did find the first day to be a little slow, but the game picked up pretty fast afterward and I only managed to make it to day 5.  The only big criticism is that I would love just a few other minor features like some way to get more sheep for a little longer of games or something to encourage moving away from the barrel.  But otherwise, I love this game.  If there are any plans on adding more features or continuing development, I'll be waiting in anticipation.

The visuals are absolutely stunning! The game really has an immaculate vibe as you defend your flock. The day is peaceful yet stressful and the night really builds tension. I wish there was a little more action at times since the days felt pretty long and repetitive. I'm not very good so I end up losing a lot of sheep early and having to replay the beginning sections over again. The barrel really is goated though, and it added a lot more complexity to the combat.

Game is gorgeous, wow! Love all the parallaxing effects and tilt-shift. Animations were smooth, title screen looked great.

Really enjoyed my time defending my flock, controls were intuitive and I felt like I picked up on the gameplay quickly. Brilliant idea to let you keep your spear if you get a direct hit on an enemy, it feels very rewarding for playing skillfully.

Day/night cycle seemed a bit slow to me, Day/night 1 was brutal on my flock and I didn't make it much farther; perhaps a more granular scoring system would be better than such large steps between 0-1-2, etc for newer players.

Overall, excellently done!!

Thank you!

Yeah, I think the key here would be two reduce the time of the day/night cycle. Unfortunately, we decided early on to make the music tracks 2 minutes each, and I wanted to keep their full duration in the game

We were also very near changing the point system so that it would value how long you kept each individual sheep alive. However, we couldn't figure out how to keep players from quitting once they got down to 1-2 sheep because there would then be very little value in continuing. We supposed that adding some way to rebuild your flock would solve this, but we didn't have much time to add that. If you have any insight on this design issue, I'd be curious to hear!

That totally makes sense! The music is great too, it's a nice touch.

My gut tells me maybe 1 pt per hour, instead of 1 pt per day; you could still display which day was reached at the endslate (i.e. "You survived to day 3! Score: 70")

Rebuilding your flock is interesting. Perhaps +1 sheep returned, up to a max, as a reward when each day/night cycle is completed?

The art and polish on this game is absolutely top notch. I was able to make it to around the end of day 3 and had a pretty good time. While I think the game has a very strong core, the length of the days combined with the difficulty ramp up led to quite a lot of waiting in between enemies. When it did ramp up in difficulty on the later days I think there was a lot of fun to be had, however, getting to that point became a little bit of trial.

Fantastic work on this project, genuinely impressive! Though I think sometimes the gameplay could use a little bit of a mixup.

super cute and a really fun core concept!

it maybe felt a bit slow at times, like there was a lot of waiting around for enemies to show up, but other than that i had a great time! accidentally hit a crazy trickshot where i missed horribly, but then the spear came back down and happened to hit a vulture lol

only did 1 playthrough so far but i made it 3 days
