What, if any, Jam-Specific Challenges did you include in your entry?
"The entire game takes place in a single room": D A G O N takes place in a desolated island, this is the only map available for the gamer to explore; + "The game is no longer than 10 minutes": if the player reads fast enough, the game CAN last up to 10 minutes (though, to be honest, I think it may last between 10 and 15 minutes).

Does your game require playing multiple routes to get the full experience?
No, there is only one route, only one ending.

Approximately how long is your game (in minutes)?
10-15 minutes

  1. Three things I liked about this entry:
  1. Using an existing work to base your game on is an uncommon approach, but can be effective.
  2. Weather effects are here, which is an underutilized function in most RM games.
  3. The audio was appropriately dark and spooky.

Three things I did not like:

  1. No options menu. Whoever is playing better be happy with whatever the audio levels are.
  2. No running. The maps are rather large, so it's a bit of a slog to get from point A to point B.
  3. This is a pretty short walking sim/visual novel, and doesn't really do much to expand on the source material.

Interesting take on the story. I’ve always imagined the Dagon landmass as this vast expanse of dark rock and some kind of oily, sticky bitumen. Though that probably wouldn’t be all that interesting looking for a game.

I think this is a nice, concise game. I agree with TurboShock that the cosmic horror could have leaned in a bit more, especially as you go further into the game and see more of the island, but I also understand that it doesn't need that to tell the whole story. But, if you do decide to expand it at all, I think one cool thing would be to find something (or a series of things) that might allow the player to learn about the island or the mythos behind the island. I liked the story, but the map felt big for what was going on and how little could be interacted with, and I worry about any players who have never touched a Lovecraft story before (although maybe that's part of the fracturing). A dash function would help the map not feel so big, and I was surprised that it was disabled. Overall, a little basic but still a good story.

Nice atmosphere and good writing, great work!

I loved the visuals and the atmosphere. I think the cosmic horror elements could have been expanded slightly, but I still enjoyed the story overall. Great work!

The art really makes this, you've definitely got a real knack for it - keep making games!

I'm not a huge fan of RPGmaker games but this one was really beautiful. I really enjoyed the art a lot. I think you had a really interesting story to tell too, the scene with the fish guy getting out of the water was really good.

Unfortunate that it's kinda only a big walking sim with basically only 1 target, nothing to solve inbetween or anything. Not really a lot interactivity besides looking at objects. Oh and the collision or grid was kinda weird, made it hard to navigate at some points. I think this could become a very good game if you allow us to interact more with this pretty interesting and good looking universe that you've created here.
