I can appreciate the retro look of the game, but the fact that the lore is optional might be a bit of a problem with a game that takes place entirely within a maze where the player has such a small radius to see with. I purposely went looking for the lore but I can see that it would be easy to accidentally skip the lore and make it (somehow) to the end without finding anything at all. I also agree that there needs to be something within the maze to give the player some level of tension. Yes, the music is amped up, but it felt like a waste because nothing was chasing us and it was way too loud for what was happening. And yes, you do have a timer. But there's nothing within that timed part to make the player panic. There's no real horror except for the little bits found in the lore (which we don't even see). It's a good attempt, but it feels a bit barebones in its current state.
I think I'll echo the other comments here for a some sort of gameplay tension like enemies traps or whatnot. Also there's a weird visual bug when you run into a wall that moves some walls slightly? Good job creating a game and submitting it on theme though defs an accomplishment.
I like the idea of a horror game where u have to run through a maze and gather clues or like a key for sth, but the game could really use some kind of challenge or obstacle like an enemy or maybe a timer of sorts.
So you're a yellow cube running through a maze of red cubes looking for green cubes with some kinda weird music blasting in the background... Yea that was quite the experience. I guess next time try to get some more/better visuals in the game? And more gameplay than running from point A to point B in a maze? But hey at least you submitted something before the deadline hit, congrats for that!
