Hi, I’m Reece. I’m an independent game developer working primarily in Godot 4 and GDScript, and I’m currently available for paid freelance, contract, prototype, and short-term development work.

I work in both 2D and 3D and am especially interested in gameplay programming, systems development, debugging, prototyping, mobile development, and helping indie developers get projects from an idea or rough prototype into a working playable state.

What I can help with

Godot 4 / GDScript programming

2D and 3D gameplay systems

Player movement and controls

Android/mobile controls and builds

Enemy AI and behavior

Spawning and progression systems

Survival/resource mechanics

Combat and interaction systems

UI, menus, settings, and game flow

Save/high-score systems

Debugging and fixing existing Godot projects

Rapid prototypes / proof-of-concepts

Gameplay balancing and systems design

My current projects include DOOP: The Light Thief, a playable Android survival game built in Godot 4, as well as TappyDoop, Torches & Shadows, and Uncanny Valley, covering mobile arcade gameplay, dungeon-crawler systems, survival mechanics, and 3D development/design.

I’m open to small paid tasks, bug fixes, prototypes, milestone-based work, part-time contracts, or larger projects.

If you have a Godot project that needs programming or gameplay work, feel free to reply here or message me.

Hey! I'm developing a PSX-style Backrooms horror game in Godot 4 called Backrooms: 1983. We already have the project started and own the environment/entity asset packs we'll be using.

I'm looking for a Godot/GDScript developer who could help implement the actual gameplay systems, starting with a smaller paid milestone rather than the entire game at once.

The game is first-person 3D and will eventually need systems like player movement, sprinting/stamina, interactions, items, entity AI, level transitions, saving, and other horror/survival mechanics.

For the first milestone, I'd like to keep the scope much smaller so we can see how well we work together before expanding the project.

Would you be interested? If so, I'd love to know your pricing for a small first milestone and see any relevant 3D Godot work you've done.

If you're still looking for a developer for this milestone, I'm interested. My released Godot project is Desktop Reptiles:

For a small first stage, I'd suggest first-person movement, mouse look, and sprint/stamina in one existing scene. My indicative rate is US$20/hour; I'd confirm a fixed price and delivery date after reviewing your project, Godot version, and expected behavior. Which gameplay system would you like to start with? PayPal works for payment.

Hey! Thanks for responding — I'm definitely still looking.

For the first milestone, I think the player movement system would be a good place to start. The project is using Godot 4 and is a first-person PSX-style Backrooms horror game.

For the initial version, I'd want walking, sprinting, mouse look, stamina, and a basic first-person camera that feels appropriate for a horror/exploration game. I'd also like the system to be structured so we can expand it later with things like crouching, footsteps, interactions, and other mechanics without having to rewrite everything.

I can provide the existing Godot project and assets once we're ready to begin. Before moving forward, could you give me an estimate of roughly how many hours you'd expect that first milestone to take at your $20/hour rate?

Also, I'd be interested in seeing any 3D first-person work you've done in Godot specifically, if you have some available.

Hey, I’d estimate around 5–7 hours for the first version, so US$100–$140 at $20/hour. That includes testing it in your scene and tuning the movement and camera feel, with the code set up so the later mechanics can be added without reworking the controller.

I don’t currently have a public 3D first-person Godot sample to share. Desktop Reptiles is the public Godot project I have available.

If that range works for you, send over the project and the exact Godot 4 version. I’ll take a look at the setup before confirming the quote.
