i really like the way you show the text, it reminds me of disco elysium TT,  not to mention the writing style, it's almost like poetry and really vivid. i love it.  can't wait to see how it will be when it's finished!

I looove your writing! And the way you sync up the visuals with the text is also super effective, knowing that clicking forward will show something new in the scene definitely made moments more tense. The overall effect is super immersive and cinematic. I especially love the leaving-the-train scene and Pusturnik's introduction, with each thing getting revealed piece by piece and the visuals changing progressively with the text. It's also cool how Soika's dialogue skips forwards when she's speaking fast. I think this'll be a great format for a longer story for sure!! The point-and-click elements are also super promising, as well as the personality bar (maybe you could hide it most of the time and fade it in for a few seconds when a decision causes it to change, if it's not something the player will need to reference often). This was a really cool demo and I'm excited to see how it develops!

  1. You have an interesting manner of storytelling, quite different from the other VN I have played from this jam so far. It’s refreshing. On that note, I am aware it is Twine but PLEASE find a js for autoplay. Having to click to get 1 short sentence gets tiresome given the scope of the work overall.
  2. I am not sure if I comprehend what stats mechanics are supposed to do, other that they narrow the options I can choose as a player and depending on the value-ratio they influence the chances of the character passing a trait check. Personally I would be more lenient with stats, so it takes a couple choices for it to change as opposed to 1 choice = immediate change.
  3. Clicking to reveal clues is so neat, bonus point for having a “highlight” option in the settings. That is a neat mechanic, definitely utilize it more.
  4. I did not try multiple endings as I do not feel like clicking so much again to find parts I have not yet read.
  5. I’m not sure if my player agency mattered. The character did what I wanted him to do, whether it has any effect is difficult to say as its a demo. Given the contextual clues, I’d say you are expanding the game both vertically and horizontally very well.

TLDR; if you fix the auto-play, I will play the game’s future updates should there be any (and I sincerely hope there will be)

Thank you so much for playing and detailed feedback!! It was very, very helpful!

And thank you for suggesting autoplay! The game is not really built with Twine (dialog plugin for godot + a TON of customization) and I think I can add autoplay in future releases!
