Automated playtest, not a human one: an AI agent played the first few minutes in a browser (Edge, 1280×800) and wrote these notes. I haven't played it myself yet.

  • "The air is cold and damp" plus a single "Make Fire" button is a strong opening, and the unlocks (Torch → Explore Cave → Stone Axe → Village) came at a good pace. The Whispering Cube event, about three minutes in, is the first real hook.
  • After the first exploration, repeat trips added stone, iron and coal but no log line, so I couldn't tell what each trip found. My torch count went from 0 to 25 over four explore runs and nothing in the log explained it (I may have missed the reason).
  • Building the Wooden Hut took 50 wood, but nothing changed on screen: no log line, no new count. It felt like the click did nothing.
  • Next to "Build" there are three unlabelled icon boxes (☐ ✖ ✖); I couldn't find what they do.
  • Disabled buttons (Explore Cave with no torch, Stone Axe with too little stone) don't say what they need.
  • Console: one 404 for pwa-192x192.png (the manifest icon). Harmless.

We're in the jam too with Pigeon Pals (browser, adults only): /jam/playtest-feedback-exchange-jam-9/rate/5049127. If you have 15 minutes, a human first impression would mean a lot.

Played through the opening. The tone lands: "The air is cold and damp" then a single "Make Fire" is a clean hook, and the resource step reads clearly (Wood 12 to 2 after crafting a Torch). Two things: (1) clicking "Explore Cave" produced no visible change for me, no new log line, no new scene, no resource change, so it looks broken or gated on something unstated. (2) crafting takes two clicks ("Craft" then "Torch"); a first-time player may not see the second step. Also by minute two there is no threat yet, so the stakes are unclear. Strong atmosphere, I wanted to keep going.

Really enjoyed the game! I finished the demo and had a good time playing it.
The interface is really nice, especially for a text-based game. It feels simple and intuitive. I also really liked the ambient sounds, they add a nice atmosphere to the game.

Thanks for sharing this, bro! Very cool and atmospheric concept. The vibe inside the cave is top-notch, and the game has a lot of potential. Left you a good rating.

I liked the tools, gathering resources, crafting and exploring. The sound effects were especially good and added a lot to the atmosphere. My biggest reaction was that I kept wanting to actually see something as I explored. When I discovered things like the Whispering Cube, the description made me curious, but I wanted some kind of visual reward for the discovery. Even a simple image or illustration appearing with discoveries would have made the exploration more satisfying for me.
