What, if any, Jam-Specific Challenges did you include in your entry?
- HawkZombie is in your game as a character or cameo (a little)
- No spoken or written dialog (I try only audio/text fragment memories).
- The game is no longer than 10 minutes.
- The entire game takes place in a single room.

Does your game require playing multiple routes to get the full experience?
No. The game is a linear experience and the full story can be experienced in a single playthrough.

Really cool game! I liked the themes around trauma and domestic violence, I think they work really well for this kind of horror game. The use of a single room that keeps changing is a really interesting and unique idea, and complements the idea of being trapped as a child in a troubled family well. The enemy encounter at the end is really interesting too (SPOILERS AHEAD), I thought it would have been the father but imo it's much more interesting that it's the mother - this captures both sides of the abusiveness of the family dynamic very well.

I think the up/down camera really needs to be changed if possible, the way the player camera physically rotates is quite nauseating especially given the cramped environment. Additionally, I ran into a bug in (what I assumed is) the final encounter where after I was spotted and the game reset, I was unable to pickup the key to unlock the door. I also think some areas (particularly the section where all the furniture is piled up around the room) were a little too  dark and hard to navigate.

Another piece of feedback I had was I think it would be good if you removed the text from each object and simply turned up the speech volume - the audio effects on the voices were really great and I think the presence of dialogue text kind of takes away from it a little bit.

Some things to work on, but I think this project is interesting and it's themes and creativity show a lot of promise!

Three things I liked about this game:

  1. The ambience is appropriately creepy
  2. The controls are simple, and there are prompts on things that can be interacted with
  3. The game is relatively straightforward and short

Three Four things I did not like:

  1. It's difficult to tell what needs to be done in each segment, and it's not clear what interactions will trigger the next segment. I nearly quit on the first segment because I had trouble finding one interaction that would trigger the rest of the game. There was one place where I randomly interacted with something I could not see and it triggered the next segment. The one with the keys was annoying because I could not just collect the correct key; I had to try each key as the game allowed me to, then go back until I was allowed to pick up the correct key.
  2. The audio balance was terrible. I could barely hear the voice lines.
  3. While the darkness of the room adds to the creepy factor, it also made it difficult to maneuver through the rooms and obscured things I needed to interact with.
  4. Some interactions don't seem to work, particularly the radio, and the interact prompts appear farther away than the actual interaction distance. At least all the required interactions do work, but I would frequently have to get closer to the target than the prompts led me to believe.

Thank you so much for playing my game! Yeah, there are still quite a few things that I didn't have enough time to fix, so I definitely need to organize myself better for my next game, haha.

The sounds are a bit quiet because most of them are actually me using Audacity to distort my voice, and I thought they sounded pretty terrible, haha.

But seriously, thank you very much for playing and for pointing out the things that could be improved. Maybe after the jam I'll release a small update to fix some of the issues.

Cheers!

The themes in your game are important to me, and the way you handled them is very good. The parents were actually scary, like the dad yelling at the beginning was enough to make me feel uncomfortable and

the crying mom gave me goosebumbs. The visuals and sound effects are both good.

The only thing that bothered me was the movement, it could've been smoother, but that was mainly problem in the room filled with furniture. I don't know why but I couldn't get past gaps when walking sideways? But nevertheless, I always adore people who can make games with Unreal Engine.

Thank you so much for playing my game. Unfortunately, because I was short on time, I wasn't able to properly test the messy room section.

I really appreciate your feedback, and I'll definitely keep it in mind for future projects. This is a very personal subject for me, so it truly means a lot that you enjoyed the game.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. All the best!
