Wow, this game really commits to its theme. The UI, the color palette, and the art style all feel very cohesive. It reminded me of SABLE and Chants of Sennaar. The background art in particular strongly brought Chants of Sennaar to mind, and since I really love the visuals in that game, I enjoyed that a lot here too.
I also really liked the costume designs. Overall, it feels like a great deal of care went into researching and representing the historical and cultural details. I’m not an expert in the field, so I can’t say how accurate everything is with certainty, but the effort definitely comes through.
There is just one small thing about the UI that bothered me a little. When a choice takes up more than one line, the decorative elements on both ends seem to stretch vertically along with it, and I found that pretty noticeable. The choice box itself also started to look slightly distorted to me. I hadn’t really noticed it before, but once I realized that the whole choice element was being stretched vertically for two-line choices, I couldn’t stop noticing it.
That said, it’s definitely not a serious issue! I’m just the kind of person who pays a lot of attention to UI details.
Overall, I thought it was a really good game. And to say it again, I especially appreciated how much effort seems to have gone into researching the ancient culture represented in the game. I really love that kind of detail.
Really great job!! Not a setting that see you a lot of games set in, and one that you clearly put time and effort into depicting, which paid off! The UI designs and title text design are cute nods to the era, and the costuming of the characters feels great. The relationships between the characters feels cute and realistic (particularly the siblings), and the writing flows naturally throughout. I got Ending 3, but am definitely invested in the characters to the point of planning to go back and try for a few more. It was a small touch, but I also also really appreciate the comedic labels for the chase sequence choices - that got a good chuckle out of me. Excited to see your planned additions whenever they get added! Congrats to the whole team 🎉
Thank you so much, that's high praise coming from you!
Was definitely attracted to this after seeing the thumbnail! Loved that animated scene, the art in general, and even the design of the textbox. Nice work overall and it was a very unique and interesting setting!
(also I didn't run into any noticeable bugs so I assume the looping one was definitely fixed up!)
Thank you! We poured a lot of effort, energy, and research. And, yes, the looping bug has been successfully exorcised.
the research and effort definitely shows for sure!
