Ah yep yep, it's a bug when it first launched. I have fixed it at 3 Oct, so right after you posted this :3
Please try again, it should be able to load the old save files now :3
It looks like the save still doesn't work. Gives me the same error message as before, too. But, with the debug features, I guess that's not the biggest deal.
