Great story telling, excellent pacing. Very creative!

This was such a beautiful game, I love all the effects, and uncovering the story piece by piece. Also there is something just soothing about the movement. While not the same mechanics is gave me a bit of an Gris feeling.

Truly a beautiful aesthetic with some amazing artwork, and an emotional story to match! Little Sibling did their best. Not even the gods blood could save him. Some truly great work, well done!

I do wish the player character could move with standard keyboard inputs, or if we could hold in the mouse buttons (even if we were to move slower this way) it would be a nice UX change.

I hope to learn more about the flame soon

philosophical and tragic as always <3 beautiful balance of graphics and space, and I really enjoyed the concept of revealing this story through reflections of the past. Would have enjoyed some involvement in the outcome or some agency, but that was an enjoyable interactive experience. I have watched your work become more cohesive with practice, sound, art, game play, and story were well balanced.

Well done Garage Bugs! Excellent sound design, movement and atmosphere. Really liked how the ripple felt like exploring fog of war, something very rewarding about seeing a reflection up in the distance and navigating towards it.

excellent! beautifully put together, and incredible writing.

Woaah, this was sick!

Found the story really engrossing. Really impressed with the length and depth of the story you managed in such a short period. The vibe was right up my alley.

Great sound design and music. The movement and story initiation sfx felt super satisfing. The music loop had a bit of a noticeable pause when restarting, but it's a great track with a wonderful blend of sounds and textures that really brought the atmosphere alive.

Art was also beautiful. Loved how the reflections emerged, and always a sucker for good pixel art.  The use of minimal colours also really added to the theme of the narrative.

Would have liked it if the character kept moving when you held in click. It's such a smooth and satisfying movement that it felt a bit annoying having to click the whole time, especially when crossing large distances.

Solid game, and with some added puzzle mechanics or something that breaks up the story discovery a bit, I think this could evolve into something super special.

Really polished and immersive experience, great work!

Really liked how the whole aesthetic just ‘breathed’ and had space 🙌

Lovely and thoughtful, was all around just a good experience, and the art and audio worked together perfectly

Phenomenal entry guys! The story, buttery smooth movement, simple but stunning art and  evocative music and sounds are so well executed. Feels like a beautifully complete package :)

It was truly a pleasure to play, fantastic work, though i am a little sad i didn't get to see John's great VO work.
I can forgive you for not having it, as you added a text speed slider, the ripples and just amazing atmosphere.

Just in awe of how much you achieved in such a short amount of time!

Developer

Hahaha yes, John's VO is classic (I still have "Eat yer grass, Shaun" constantly replaying in my head). Thanks for playing despite that!

Stunning art style and incredible audio design. Loved the story, was really impressed by this!!

Developer

Thank you! We <3 our sound designer

I have no idea how such a gem of a game was made in the short time span of only 72 hours, the art, music , sfx, story all of it was amazing. I seriously enjoyed discovering all of the memories  and I love the mystery surrounding it all.

The art, music and sfx and story make this such a work of art. Really love how you achieved those water ripples and reflection aesthetic. Nice done Garage Bugs!

Developer

Thank you so much! The combo of all those aspects definitely brought this together - the big ripple animation, effect and sound combo will forever ring in my head (in a good way).

How do you guys do this in such a short amount of time! Totally Rad!

Submitted(+3)

Seriously Beautiful game!

This was honestly fantastic, I was entranced every moment of it. Such a tight experience with a compelling story, and it felt way longer than it was (and I mean that as a big compliment) to the point that when I hit the "loop" I was genuinely surprised. Amazing job everyone!

Developer

Thank you!! Glad you were immersed in the story and world

Submitted(+1)

Wow that was great!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Yoh! I was so invested in this story and what would happen to the player. Ya'll have made such simple but beautiful world that is so easy to get immersed in. I love this take on the theme and the feeling of movement around the world. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Glad you felt immersed and enjoyed moving through the world

This was so lovely. The ripples in the water were so good and such a clean mechanic of telling a story.
Really pretty, sound matched perfectly. Loved the story.
Don't know what the coins were for and would have loved some narrative about who you as the player were and how you tie into the story. But those seemed like mechanics for the game further on?

Really a great game, vibes were off the chart <3 well done

Developer

Thanks so much! Appreciate the kind words and the feedback.

There is a "core" memory for each section that relies on you unlocking some smaller memories. If you go over the core memory before you've unlocked it you would see a tiny lock with two of those diamond "coins". Good to know that it's not super intuitive of what they do if you haven't seen the lock first, thanks for the feedback!

As you continue through the story... check the resemblance of your character to one of the other characters in the memories ;)

Submitted(+1)

Oh ok 😅 that makes sense for the lock.

Just giving you a bunch of critique which is just nonsense lol 🥲

Are you the child king? 👏👏
