Loved the mechanic, it is such a good take on the people watching theme and really played with the anxiety of watching strangers. I absolutely adored the characters, a visual treat :) (I especially loved the wizard)

Took me a little bit to figure out each character had their own bar but once I did I was hooked to keep playing to get everyone's bios. Great job!

Very nice illustrations and style ! the concept is also really funny, I enjoyed having to peek over  the newspaper at people. It would be cool if I could take notes, or notice things that were recorded, or revealed in some way. I wasn't entirely sure what had me detected, so I kept on losing, but I did find all of the civilians.
The best part about this is the collaboration! Props to the 11 year old game jammer apparently.

Thanks so much! yeah it was basically a family projecct this jam, I did all the unity work and my son and girlfriend created the art and text.

a hint is that the criminals look at you when you look at them and you get detected, if you raise the newspaper or stare at someone without getting detected your bar goes up so you can stare and get detected without failing. It definitely could have been made clearer and maybe a little easier. theress also a functon where if you try fudge it without raising the newspaper, you basically get detected instantly.. definitely a lot to learn from for the next jam ! thanks again for playing

Love the art style and the funky looking characters. Was struggling a bit in the beginning with no idea what I was doing wrong, but was determined to win. After a while I realized I should not let their suspicion bar go down and move with the momentum. Great sounds that fit the atmosphere. Smooth and rewarding gameplay!

Developer

Appreciate this response! I'm glad you were able to push through and figure out the criminal bar goes down.. definitnely feel like I could have made it clearer or just make the bar bigger so you can see whats happening! thanks for giving it a good go !

Neat little game with a very interesting cast of characters. Did some of them scare my pants off when they detected me? Maybe... Really captured the anxiety of someone noticing you looking at them. Also, the game feel of looking up and down from the newspaper was exceptionally smooth, props to the team :D

Hey Kyle ! thanks so much for the feedback ! the fact that getting detected gave you a fright makes me feel like it was a success !! XD
The newspaper mechanic was the first idea and it kinda turned into a whole bunch of other things as we went but lots of fun! thanks for playin
