I like that you're open to emerging artists and are starting with a small paid commission rather than asking for unpaid samples. Are you still looking for artists at the moment?
I'm currently connecting indie developers with artists, and I may be able to point you toward someone whose style fits the fantasy creatures, equipment, and item artwork you're looking for.
Are you leaning more toward a painterly, illustrated style or something more stylized/game-ready for the assets?
