This game is a hoot! I only played through once, but I wonder what the other endings are like.
I'm not 100% sure I chose the right perp, but besides that I have no notes.

yes it has multiple routes.
Approximately how long is your game (in minutes)?
30 to 40 minutes
i liked specially the art and the gameplay , the direction of the game is well done. some dialogs feels a little long for me but i like the top down games! (i made this style too) , so overall thank you for the little expierence :)
This was the funniest one I've seen yet, hands down. The writing was absolutely beautiful, and so were the personalities. It's very clear a lot of love and work went into this game. I really wasn't sure what I'd be getting when I downloaded this, but I'm very glad I got to this today. I only played through once (and saw HawkZombie's playthrough last night), and I'll admit that my sacrifice was Emily. I absolutely refuse to sacrifice Brad.
With that being said, my main concern is with doing multiple playthroughs. I'm not sure how many conversations there are, or if ANY of the choices are correct in the end, but my concern is with people getting the same conversations through multiple playthroughs simply by choosing the same combination of characters without realizing they've seen it already. Since this is easily a thirty-minute to an hour-long game, I was startled to find that there wasn't a save option at any point. I think that either there should be an option to save, OR (if it's possible) a way that the game can keep track of which conversations have already been seen. I know that DURING a playthrough, the game does this so conversations aren't repeated. Is there a way to make that span over multiple runs? That way if a player WANTS to see everything, they could? I'm probably going to play this again since it was hilarious, and I would like to see each ending at some point. I'm just not sure how much the hilarity will shine if I forget which conversations I've seen and somehow manage to select it a few times in a row.
That, however, is the only criticism I have. This was amazingly well-done, especially for a game jam entry. Your team should be exceedingly proud of what they accomplished here.
i loved the style and theme of the game! the mix between the cartoonish style and the clay character and background is amazing. the story was pretty cool to figure out especially with multiple sets of dialogue per character and timeframe. the VAs did an amazing job and certainly brought these characters to life. i think the game certainly needs a save function to save you from having to replay 20-30 minutes to get another ending. admittedly i couldnt quite understand the scrolls instructions and what i need to look out for and so i slimed out claire because she broke the circle. i fw hayley heavy, the costco hotdog is genuinely so top tier.
If we had statistics for who gets eaten the most, Hayley would probably be at the bottom lol. Thank you for the review and we actually do know about the saving issue but chose to neglect it so that we would have more time to focus on other avenues! Post jam release we may revisit it and add that function so everyone can experience the complete endings (and secret ending) I'm glad to hear you had fun with it!
Great VA work, Fun expressive art, fun gameplay (spent maybe a little too long yeeting the characters around), and a fun puzzle to figure out who was the rat. Admittedly I still dunno who it is, as both my playthroughs yielded a "eh, I don't think it was this person but whatever" from the rubble god. Part of me thinks it's probably like that for all endings, especially since there's no save system that let's you just save at the end and just go through all the options at once. Replaying it only really fun the first couple of times, but I can see it getting tedious fast trying to go through all the different combos to get all the information possible, just to get to the end again. Even skipping through already seen dialogue, I don't fancy spending 20-30 minutes just to get another ending out of 6.
It was however neat to see the demon taking on personality facets of the girls he ate. Of the girls, I think Stephanie and Pippi are my favorites. Stephanie is cool (at least when lucid and sober), while Pippi is just bonkers fun. I feel like the VAs all had a lot of fun voicing their lines.
Thanks a lot for the comment! as the lead programmer I really appreciate that you took the time to explain your gripes with it on multiple playthroughs, it wasn't very often the case that our play testers or even our own devs would replay the game enough to see the cracks you've identified.
my math more or less landed that it would take 4-ish playthroughs to go through all the dialogue combinations and past that point I'd imagine that the last 2 playthroughs to see the leftover endings would get annoying but i'd take it as a compliment considering that I didn't really imagine anyone replaying the game more than 2 times (and the experience was tailored around that)
we'll most likely check out the possibility of a fully fledged save feature if we ever revisit the game, but it's really nice to hear that you've had fun! our VA's did an incredible job and everyone had a lot of fun! we're glad we can share that experience with you through our game
