I'm on the CachyOS distro so I'm using its default version, proton-cachyos-slr, but I'm pretty sure it also happened on Proton -GE when I tried that. GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT. The framerate was poor overall, around 30 or so most of the time, but it would tank even lower in areas with lava.

Thanks for the details! The drop near lava is interesting: it may be the lava itself rather than Proton. I'll take a look.

It's likely the lighting since there are a ton of lights generated around lava to give it a nice glow. The lighting is deferred so it shouldn't be super expensive, but I have no idea what this Proton thing is or what it's using by default instead of D3D.
