Hi again, I didn't read properly earlier, you mentioned steam controller and apparently it does behave differently to a gamepad as I believe you can disable desktop mouse emulation on the steam controller which may be affecting it - but if you did not experience this on other games it may be because I am specifically using mouse screen position rather than delta and other games may be using delta and locking the cursor.
But if it is affecting you across the board, it may be a setting on the steam deck you can switch the control stick to emaulate mouse or not.
Enjoy the jam and thanks for all your time.
Def gonna dig into this because I think the Steam Machine and by proxy it's controller has big potential for indie devs due to the way the other consoles have been preforming as of late. Was being lazy and thought I would ask you in case you knew something off hand about the new controller. I have a Steam deck, and a steam controller but alas no Steam Machine. I have never thought about playing the jam games on the deck. That could be fun. On the last GDTV game jam this last May, I tried a very ambitious game called "Sparks". While nothing like your current game, in genre or theme, I felt at home playing your game and understand all of the time it takes to get all of those little systems going. Just wanted you to know that someone recognized all the effort and I think it is great for 10 days. On a very side note, I am currently taking the GDTV Assets Program. I learned something the other day about assets and thought I might share. If you already know this and ran out of time, I mean no offense. I noticed that some of your trees and roofs were "leaky" or had windows here the light was passing through. In the Inspector on the objects mesh renderer component under lighting you can set it to Two Sided in the Cast Shadows field. This might fix that issue. Like I said, I just learned this last week and if you already knew this mean no offense.
Thanks I was not aware of that, that's really cool of you to share.
I joined the last jam but life got in the way and I could not submit in time - thank you for noticing all the systems, there is quite a lot going on and honestly it's not just about how many systems are happening, but making them integrate and bug fixing when you tweak things, that is the time consuming part. I was really proud of the infection spreading and curing I have to admit.
I always go a bit too ambitious - I have to learn to rein it in. I think you got the jam spot on this time, the design was spot on, perfect jam length I'd say - keep up the good work I'll keep an eye out for you in the Christmas jam ;)
