Really cool vibe to this one. Were each of the enemy ships contributing an instrument to the soundtrack? It felt that way with the way that some instruments came and went, and the way the sound effects complimented the music. If so, really awesome.

I liked the map design a lot, felt really vast and complex while still being memorable.

I experienced a bit of lag, playing this in the browser.

At the ending of the game, I accidentally collected the final upgrade without reading the info blurb next to it, so I'm not quite sure what that upgrade was about lore-wise, but it felt like a cool culmination to everything that came before it.

Yup! The way I set up the music was a basic loop that always played, and then a bunch of additive loops for enemies and specific sections of the map that came in and out on proximity.
