Hello!

We played this game and made a video on YouTube:

On top of that, here’s some text feedback based on our experience:

  • The visuals are gorgeous, especially considering it’s a demo!
  • The game did a decent job at explaining how it works, but admittedly it took us some time to connect the dots.
    • I suspect one of the reasons is that the playing cards look plain, I wonder if it would be easier if for example clubs and spades had enemy silhouettes drawn on them, or if diamonds look like swords?
  • It would be nice if the game explained that the goal is to empty the deck and survive. We figured that out eventually, but there was a moment of us not knowing how long the game would go.
  • The gameplay loop is very-very promising! Playing hands and levelling them up is really fun!

Overall we had a great time, we were hoping to play more of the game but we reached the end of the demo. In the full game once the “Relics” and the “Gold” come into play, it will have a better replay value for sure!

Thank you very much for making this game 😁

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback, and for taking the time to make a video!

You brought up something I hadn't made clear enough: the actual goal of each room. I'll add a short Dealer explanation about surviving, going through the deck, and clearing the remaining enemies.

I also really appreciate the suggestion about making the suits more recognizable. I've been trying to preserve the traditional playing-card look, so I might experiment with temporary visual cues during the tutorial rather than changing the card artwork itself.

And I'm really glad you enjoyed forming and leveling up poker hands! That's one of the things I want to build the whole experience around.

By the way, if you played the browser version, there's also a longer downloadable demo that includes relics, gold, shops, and the first boss. The browser trial is intentionally just the introduction.

Thanks again, this was genuinely helpful! ❤️
