Can users with disqualified games jam entries still rate other games in the jam? Do their previous ratings still count? There doesn’t seem to be anything in the jam docs about this.

Great question, I’m assuming you’re asking this about jams that use “submitter’s only” voting? I checked the code and I see that we don’t handle it well, the disqualified submitter is still allowed to rate entries, and all their votes are counted. Looking to see if we can patch this easily

Yes, you assumed correctly. I did a little testing and that was my hunch, but wasn’t certain. It does seem like their votes should not count. otherwise it would be an easy avenue for vote manipulation. Thank you for the speedy response!

Okay the fix is deployed

• Disqualified entries in “submitters/contributors only” jams no longer grant the user voting privileges
• Additionally, we changed it so that at ranking time of “submitters/contributors only” jams, every vote is verified that the user who posted it still meets the voting criteria: they have an active game in the jam or they are a host or judge

The docs have also been updated to mention this: /docs/creators/game-jams#jam-customization/ranked-jams
