I love trying out PICO-8 games, they have such a charm.
I love exploring maps in games, and Cold Night creates a good additional incentive to check out every corner.
I got to 19 remaining, missing a key somewhere I think. I'm going to come back and finish the game after sleep.
I'm not very good at dodging ghosts. But if the only penalty is you lose some leaves and thus lose time, that's not too bad, I seemed to have pretty abundant time. Probably would benefit from balancing both.
Wish I had come across this during the rating period. I saw you didn't feel so warmly towards this game but there's something pretty good here. Looking forward to your next work!
Been a while since I played a game made with Pico8! Great use of the limitations here. I really enjoyed my time with it and there's a nice level of challenge too! I was pleasantly surprised at how big the map actually was too. Gameplay gets more intense the deeper you go and that added a cool vibe to the experience. Well done!
Cool game! I can see it as metroidvania or knowledge-vania if you make it into a full game!
Thanks :3
I forget to mention that collision of doors too small, you need to pixel perfect enter them or they won't work. That's pretty annoying.
PICO-8 thats cool man, reeeal cool. its solid and the only it needs is music
I think the game is solid. I like the simple art and simple enemy's. But I felt like it wasn't possible to dodge them sometimes. It was sometimes hard to fit though doors or open chests
Easy to pick up and hard to master. Doorways could be a bit wider.
Solid!
That’s what I’m pico’talking about! Really love the simplicty. It’s super effective and I wanted to explore the map in is entirety. I would have just wished for doors leading back to the beginning so there’s a bigger reward in remembering the layout
