The story consists much of mood and subtext. There's not really much happening here - no action scene, no typical conflict, no resolution - but it is more a flow of feelings and re-evaluation of relationships. That gives the story which could have been a classic choose-your-own-adventure but decided not to be, a dreamlike quality, and it feels off and distanced, conveying the emotions of the protagonist.
While Beebster calls for a clear goal, he views this work as a typical game but it is not, in my opinion; I think it is more an introspection, a psychological journey, a search for insights. And it carries the theme well.
Interesting story. Kept me engaged and wanting to know what happens next. My only issue is that the game doesn't seem to offer a full screen mode so it's difficult to become more emerged in it. Still, very nice submission!
I liked how the music and visuals escalated with the story.
Hi nice story game. The chosen colors! text is clear to read. calm sounds! feeling the mystery! Nice job! we used our imagination powers for the visuals which is great!
How will this experience be if there was an image! even if it was one! the house from outside maybe!
Anyway thanks it was nice 👍
So, this is what I would have done differently. I am an old Infocom player, Zork, Infidel, Witness, like that. It is better to have interactive playing and perhaps a more clarified objective.
Your writing is good, the story is good, but it was all over the place as there seemed to be no objective. I like these kind of games but you need a parser and a clear goal.
Im lazy to read so as genre its not for me but it looks decent visually. So nice work for that. 👍
This is my first text based game ever played, felt some of these words.
Maybe adding some sketches of the locations and blurry people to deliver the scene in a better way.
Great work!!
Nice submit!
I am not usually in to text based games but I managed to sit trough this one and enjoyed it.
The atmosphere was nice and slightly spooky, Story was well written and game mechanics and page changes worked nicely.
I would have hoped for slightly sorter text's between the page turns because I tend to be a lazy reader but I think for someone who isnt as lazy its not a problem.
Overall a solid submit for the jam!
This was well written and it definitely made me feel. It felt a little too true to my introverted life though :D
