Cute game, I like the barista theme - I've actually made a game like that in the past myself
The character designs are awesome, however first several demons I had the differences were so subtle that I couldn't figure out where I went wrong. I also got a little confused where the chai tea and cinnamon topper both use a cinnamon stick as a symbol. That's a fairly realistic interpretation, but maybe another symbol could be used, or one with more spices for the chai. Speaking of chai, I ran into a problem where I couldn't pick up another chai teabag around Day 4, it was like we were sold out.
It could be a little awkward sometimes placing the cup outside the screen before moving the camera. If there was a way to hold onto the cup while moving between screens I think could help mitigate that.
Fairly minor nitpick: the end of day report showing the next day was a bit odd. Like, immediately after the tutorial it says Day 2: Take a Break which leaves me wondering what happened to Day 1. And then on the other end, being told I have to make it through 5 days, but when the end of level says Day 5 I still have one more day to go
I liked the physics on the teabags, and that it took a moment for it to steep before it became that tea. It did leave me thinking I was missing the sweet spot at first. Shaking the cup to throw the teabag out to catch it seemed like it did the trick, although by late in the game I realized I was just being a goof
Good tunes, definitely putting your best foot forward there. Good game!
I like how you implemented limitation in your game! Also, cool game mechanics of making a drink with diffrent stations and spices. Once I showed a drink too far away and was unable to pick it up. It would be nice if we couldn't just toss the cup away from screen :D
Anyway, I played the game to the day 5 and really enjoyed it. Good work!
What features changed on the ones that were demons? I really must be blind because after playing twice I still couldn't figure it out 馃槄
The idea for the limitation was brilliant, but the clunky gameplay and controls made it quite difficult to enjoy or even notice the details. Perhaps being able to use WASD or arrow keys while holding the cup could make it a little more bearable to switch between the stations? It's understandable if it's meant to be a mobile game though, the way it's working now.
Great job making your own art and music though, that must have been a lot of work!
Noice game, other than the jank teabags and cups getting stuck between scenes, i found this typo ig "you must follow..." also (this one is a me thing) i sometimes dragged the cup too far up from the water and coffee area and it served the drink when i wanted to check for demon before that. Still, great game, the implementation of the limitation was rlly gud and i loved the spirit characters.
This was a fun game, I really liked making all the little drinks. Some of the controls were a little finicky, but still enjoyable.
This is bringing me back to my barista days (demons included)! The tea bags were cracking me up! I definitely gave many demons their drinks before figuring out what to look for. Awesome game and unique concept. The use of the limitation was really creative. Good job!
Fun idea! I liked having to watch the customers for changes before serving them their drinks. I agree with some of the other feedback about the cup controls being a little weird, but what confused me most was that there were 2 different cinnamon and apple icons. I figured out eventually that the 3 on the left were teas (so that cinnamon was chai) and the ones on the right were flavoring (like cinnamon syrup), but at first I was really stumped by why I could make this guy's cinnamon coffee (spoiler, I was trying to add chai to a coffee, lol).
Good music and decent gameplay. As others have said I had a cup get caught between scenes that I couldn't grab and the tea bags were a bit jank, but otherwise it was a fun game loop. It took me a minute to find the cups the first time around, but that might be user error lol. Overall Good Job!
The barista gameplay itself is generally nice and the vibe is cozy, though moving the cup feels kinda clunky and it sometimes gets stuck between scenes (like if I accidentally placed in the middle of where two scenes connect I can鈥檛 even reach it again) and the tea bags sometimes glitch out. The idea of comparing customer鈥檚 features before and after to determine if they鈥檙e a demon is neat though sometimes it can be hard to distinguish the features. But in general this is pretty nice.
I had a nice time playing this game! The art was nice and cute. The take on the limitation was interesting as well, though it took me a couple of tries to understand it.
It took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize that I could move cups between scenes. It's a little buggy, I had to redo a drink cause it got lost inbetween 2 scenes and I couldn't grab it back. The tea bags also just kinda flew around and got stuck? The game could definitely benefit from clearer instructions.
Overall it was enjoyable and has lots of charm to it! I had fun :)
I enjoyed it a lot and i'm coming away with two very prevalent thoughts the poor pumpkin won't stop ordering a pumpkin spice latte and I would totally drink a sugar rush latte.
The music was a good gamey loop and the art style was cool, I kept accidentally giving demons their drinks at the start but eventually got the idea after reading comments and trying the game out again. Really cool entry and the songs still going around in my head after coming to rate you game lol
Loved the music! The art style was amazing too, really well drawn with some nice shading and lots of fun little details to look at.
I thought the mechanics for preparing the drinks were really cool and engaging. I especially liked how the tea bags could stay in the cup as you moved between stations, and adding the different toppings was fun too. It made the whole drink-making process feel a bit more hands-on.
Lovely take on the limitation as well! Having to remember the customers' appearances while going back and forth to prepare their drinks really put my memory and attention to detail to the test. Apparently, I'm pretty terrible at both XD. Really fun concept with a lot of charm!
I enjoyed this game a lot! The music was very good and the interpretation of the limitation was cool. Having to drop things between tables to swap kind of felt janky and I feel that a hover system like in FNAF to check cameras could be smoother while holding the cup. Very fun mechanics and game good work!
Very fun to play. Played through the whole game and enjoyed it. The cups glitching a bit between the tables, but overall funny little game.
Controls are a bit wonky, but overall a really fun concept and I like the artstyle :)
Nice game idea. I did have issues with telling demons apart, although after reading the comments it was quite clever. Just maybe it would be good to showcase it in tutorial, or maybe explain it better. Also as mentioned already, tea bags r glitching and although movements aren't that bad, it would be nice to be able to move with cup already selected, so you don't have to always put down. The art style is quite unique and nice. Game music as well. Although kinda loud, I had to turn it down a little. The text in the beginning, does have some mistakes in it, and is bigger then the speech bubble in one instance, although those are just details. Nice game :D
I liked the idea, but navigating was kind of hard. Also, I wasn't able to understand how to distinguish demons, so I checked the comments. The gameplay really changed after knowing that. You might need a better way of telling players how they can tell the demons apart. Other than that overall great game!
