The game has a great feel/vibe and both the art and the map layout were very cool! It has a lot of potential! Similar to what others were saying, it took me quite awhile to figure out the objective, though I had fun exploring the map and eventually ran into items i could interact with (:

Thank you for playing our little game. we tried to do as little handholding as possible, but it turns out we didn't even told the player the main objective XD

glad you enjoyed it :)

The Japanese Aki vibe is very appealing, but the goal is weakly explained and it's confusing what to do next. It seems that we should light the lanterns around the map, but no buttons is doing that and I could only forage random resources like mushrooms or rice. There are shrines to put down the resources but what it does is unclear either. I can tell you spent lots of time in map design, so it's unfortunate to see it not being utilized properly. If you didn't have time to implement a in-game tutorial, I'd suggest adding hints in the game page. ^ º﹏º。 ^

Thank you for playing and feedback. We do agree that the “tutorial” and the game goal is unfortunately lacking an in game explaination that better guides the players. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to implement that fully in an organic way, and made the choice to not use only UI text to explain it (in out opinion that would ruin the atmosphere). Thank you for the great suggestion of using the itch page for that, we are now working on updating it.

Great feel overall from the game from art, sound, and ambiance. I wasn't so sure what to do however so I ended up just exploring and getting tricked by kitsunes.

Regardless love the idea!

Thank you for playing and feedback! We will surely release at least an update after the jam rating period, just to address the issue of guiding the player. Glad you still enjoyed it!

The art is beautiful and I love the large map! Like the others, I could have used a bit more hand holding haha! Also, my volume buttons were moving my character for some reason! Beautiful game and I love the concept. Can't believe how big the map is for a two-week game. Good job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Glad you liked the idea! Sorry for the issue with the character, it never happened when testing, were you playing from the browser or the downloaded version?

Thank you again!

Really liked the visuals. I really like the world your created. The only thing was that i wasnt really sure what i was meant to do. Other than that really good music, lovely visuals. Great work :)

Developer

Thank you, we tried to balance guidance (with sounds and some messages) without overdoing it, but we may have underestimated how lost the player would be. Thank you for your feedback!

Pretty good game. Atmosphere, music and art style were really great. Maybe just a bit more guidance would be nice, especially since the map is quite big. But nice work  for two weeks :)

Thank you for playing and the feedback!

Not bad! I liked the atmosphere and art style. I found some of the items, like the shiitake mushrooms, had a really low or inconsistent spawn rate or something. They became impossible to find after a while. The lighting was a nice touch. Overall good job!

Developer

Thank you for play! The various foraging items have multiple spawnpoints, respawn timers and a chance to be a kitsune illusion, so I’m guessing not having them respawn on a similar timer (the shiitaki in particular has a longer and less frequent spawning) may feel a bit inconsistent.

Thank you again for your feedback!

Good work on this game, team - the art is very nice! With the map being as large as it is, little guidance, and a mechanic that delays progression, it can start to feel tedious for impatient players, so just be careful with that! However, I think you incorporated the limitation well and in a clever way!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for much for playing and your feedback! We tried to give the player some direction with the dialogues and sounds, without giving too much guidance.
