The art a is eye-catching! The story is very interesting too. Shandshake was just epic ใ(^▽^ )ว

Developer

Thank you, very much! for giving us a rate. unfortunately the product is a rushed we haven't enough time to polished it. Because of all staff on our Group's Schedule mixed with academics and creating a game. ^ ^

I really liked the story C:

The artstlye is also very interesting and is well put together :0

Only problem I had was the text color being black and thus hard to read on darker backgrounds. This could be a mobile only problem tho q.q

Thanks for making this Game C:

Developer

Hm, I think thats a mobile issue. when I tried it on my phone the UI for some rzn wouldnt load even after how much time, sad you got to experience that! The UI was supposed to look like the ones in the screenshots. Sorry for that! Glad you still enjoyed the story tho, and thanks for playing it! :3

Submitted(+1)

I really like the scrap booky feel of the game! The story line was good too and the consistency of the UI (the paper was pretty clever) :))

Developer

Thanks for liking the overall vibes of our game! And im glad you liked the story and the UI! thanks for playing!

That Walter White cameo caught me off guard!

( ≧ᗜ≦)

I like the scrapbook ambience in the game. Well, I think it's really more of an interactive story than a visual novel game, if I am being honest. I don't think there was a resolution as to why Dwight seems disorganized? Does he have multiple personality disorder? Is he in multiple dreams? Walter White never appeared again! Who was that?!

Good singing at the end, though! Do encourage your friend to continue with her music! Please tell her to stay safe as to not have the same fate as Amber!

(ᵕ ó ᴗ ò)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for liking the Walter White cameo! Our artist just added his head on the doctor's body as a joke and we decided to keep it! Thanks for voicing out your concerns aswell, the resolution wasn't implemented due to the lack of time our team had together. In the future we'd plan on making a much more cohesive and coherent story. Glad you enjoyed the singing (She's really shy so im glad you liked it!)!

The art and story were great, making a visual novel on a jam is always difficult, but this one was very enjoyable. The song at the end scared me tho

Developer

Thanks for enjoying our story! I hope the song scared you in a good way at the very least! I probably shouldve lowered the audio of it a bit and make the transition to it more smooth instead of it just abruptly playing.

Great Art, laughed a bit here and there. I'm not really used to visual novel type games, personally i noticed some of the audio effects are not in sync with the dialog and i got jumpscared by the song at the end lol, maybe it could use more expressions with the art, people kinda just stood there with the same expression and some scenes just didnt have any art and no choices that i could make, ig its a time thing, it happens, the story is alright, could be more concise imo, and def did not expect amber to die at the end. Still good work!

Developer

Yup! As you stated it really is a time thing hahaha, spedcially the fac t that theres no choices in the game called The Choice I made in Autumn, anywho, our schedules really conflicted and we had to focus on academics, which in turn lead to a rushed but finished game at the very least. Glad you enjoyed the art, and I hope you liked the song at the end aswell!

Cool art, I would have liked if all of it followed the sketchy handmade style of the characters. It put me in mind of the doodles made in the margins of schoolbooks which feels appropriate for a coming-of-age theme. The mixture of photos edited in different ways made it feel inconsistent visually. I do think some of the writing could have been more concise, and it was a little hard to follow. Some more sound effects and visuals might have helped to tell the story. Like a shift in sound/visuals when the character has his weird reality shifts (if that's what's happening). Thanks for sharing your game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! In all honesty our team also wanted to  kept the art was consistent instead of the filtered photos, and a more coherent story aswell, sadly our teams schedules were all mix-matched and were busy with academics. The end product was rushed but I'm glad you took the time to play it!

Great work hand-drawing art! I love that you've actually kept the art a lot of art like it was created instead of digitally refining it! For a lot of people it's probably a great game, but for me I suppose I much prefer games where I can make choices influence the story, because this got a little dreary after clicking through an insane amount of dialogue without really feeling any progression. But that's just my taste in games! Apart from that it looks like an insane amount of work, with all those individual sprites and drawings! Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! The game was supposed to have choices with 2 endings, but due to time constraints we had to scrap that and switch to a more linear approach. Appreciate you taking the time to play our game!

The artwork for this is phenomenal, great work! It a few chuckles out of me too, bonus points for that.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, Very Much!

Ah, the bro handshake... the most epic of handshakes, lol. I really liked the hand-drawn art style and the character expressions. The whole sketchbook look gives the game its own identity, and the autumn colors work well with it too. The little bits of humor between the characters were fun as well! Also, was that one of you singing at the end? That was pretty cool to hear.

Developer(+1)

it was fish who sang the song, One of member Mango Studio. Thank you giving us a rate ^ ^

Submitted(+1)

Wow, I really love how you used sketches to create such a wonderful mood. I think it’s both effective and creative. Character expression are sooo good! I also really love how polished the dialogue and UI are. And the autumn theme comes through so clearly

The hand drawn art was unique and the vocals at the end was beautiful. A few critiques: some kind of transition from gameplay music to the vocals would make it feel less jarring when it happens. And for the story, less filler talk and more substance would have made the story more impactful imo. That being said, great job on getting a game submitted to the jam!

Developer

I'll be sure to keep that in mind when we make another game! I really appreciate the critiques, since it lets my team and I, learn what we should've done better. I'm glad you liked the vocals at the end aswell! Thanks for playing our game :3!

Not a big VN guy but I loved the art and music!

Developer(+1)

The art style, with all the paper collage, really fitted the autumn vibe and visual novel gameplay (also using the Mr. White and Pumpkin as heads did make me laugh lol). Even tho it was a bit repetitive, the music was nice to hear and made the overhaul game feel very chill and cozy. And the end, oh god, the moment he blinked I knew what was going to happen and even it felt like a punch. The singing at the end was a bit loud, but it was shocking and very pleasant to hear.

However, something that felt missing is some gameplay to break the continuous reading and dialogue of the game, even tho it is a visual novel, having some interactivity, like choosing dialog options (even if they don’t change the outcome of the history), would be very welcomed.

Hello! Thank you for giving us a tip! My team and I are beginners who are new to game development, except for Mango, who has some coding experience. We also rushed the story a bit, but next time, when we release a full game, my team and I will make sure to polish the story alongside the game itself. Thank you so much for taking the time to play our game and give us a rating! ^ ^

Submitted(+3)

I know you were rushed, but for what it's worth I really liked the drawings of the characters :)

The song at the end kinda shocked me, but the voice is very sweet. honestly the writing is super nice!! The art and the backgrounds goes so well together, and the UI looks super autumn-ey too. Fits the theme!! I did get confused, but when I played the second time I did understand things better. Good job!!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing our game! The singer is actually quite shy about singing, and I was the one who suggested having her as the main singer. We were supposed to add a ukulele to the song, but she said, “I’m a beginner at playing the ukulele.”

Why so rushed lolz XD

ask the writers bro

Developer

weren't you the writer?

Sadly to say, i do not think this type of game fits the limitation. I would say apart from the girl singing at the end, the audio is a bit laking and doesn't reflect the story you are trying to tell.

PD: I really liked the claps XD

Developer(+1)

Sorry you felt that way! And I do agree that the audio was a bit lacking (apologies on my part [my team schedule's were all conflicting so we couldn't really find stuff that would fit]). Still! I appreciate you playing our game (specially the clap parts!).

I feel the autumn vibes, but unfortunately the story, which is the main thing of this game, didn't really do it for me. I think you could've detailed out the scenes a little more. It felt quite rushed.
But the bittersweet ending was a nice touch!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! The story was indeed rushed, but I really appreciate you taking the time to play and share your thoughts!
