BEHOLD MY MIGHTY UNDEAD ARMY!!! Love the smash em up concept, it's so rewarding. Good job!
I'm happy to hear that you find it rewarding! Thank you playing! :D
Love turning foes into friends with FIRE! cool game :)
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
Fun game. Good implementation of the theme.
It was a bit hard to see just how much impact my minions actually had. I also accidentally thought the right-click was a shield at first.
The audio could use some work, and the fireball SFX abruptly ending whenever it hits an enemy is a little annoying.
The character art was alright, though I would recommend either reducing the image size to something like 32x32 or 16x16 if you want to keep the pixel art, or increasing it to drop the pixel-art style completely. This middle ground usually doesn't work all that well.
The difficulty curve is very nice. I'm glad this isn't one of those infinite games that gets trivial once you understand it (like mine, for instance).
Thank you for playing and I appreciate the constructive feedback! I can see how the right click could look like a shield at first. I thought of we included a basic tutorial that could have helped solve any confusion people were having with stuff like that.
Uff this game was really good! I enjoyed the mechanics and it felt easy at the beginning, but you can feel the difficulty increasing.
Thank you for playing and enjoying our game!!
This is really good! Great concept, nice art and audio, and addictive gameplay. I found it slightly confusing at first, an in-game tutorial would be a nice addition. I got a score of 102,300! Thanks for jamming with us :)
Thank you! I appreciate you playing and giving feedback. I do agree that a small tutorial would have helped, but I'm glad that you figured it out and found it addicting!!
Awesome work, I had a lot of fun! I got to a score of 159,850 over 5:44. The ramp up in difficulty is really nice, and it really makes you sweat when your undead army gets taken out. I truly felt like I was alone all of a sudden.
That's an impressive score! With the soldier enemies having an area attack I have noticed that they can wipe out a lot of your skeletons at once depending on how they are surrounded. We did make it so that it got more difficult as time went to give it that arcade/high score feel so I'm glad that you had fun with it!!
I appreciate the accessible control scheme!
Very fun to play! I liked the idea of making killed enemies part of your horde! It took me while to realize that the zombies were also part of my horde so I fired at the wrong enemies for quite a while haha. I think you could have gotten away with a faster firing rate, especially with a continuous click shooting automatically.
Also, I wish there'd be punchier feedback when getting hit or hitting enemies.
Great job on this fun game!
Thank you for playing and for the feedback!
I can see how the zombies could be mistaken for the soldiers so I get why that could happen, and there is a knock back mechanic, but it's scaled with damage so if you can get enough upgrades to your damage from the power ups you can do more knock back but I can also see how it would be hard to tell at the beginning.
I'm glad you enjoyed it and thought it was fun though!! :D
Good take on the theme, I was slightly confused at first and was trying to kill my horde.. but thats on me :)
Good artwork, satisfying gameplay, good choice of music and sfx to accompany it, nice menu system..
Great entry!
Thanks for jamming with us :)
Thank you for the feedback! I had considered not having any minions out to start with and you would then notice once they were brought back, but we decided to at least start with one so the player would know that they could have some. Maybe having a small tutorial would have helped with that.
I'm glad you enjoyed it though and appreciate your input!! :D
Love the music, art and the game idea! The spell casting and enemy death was very satisfying. The menu was done well too. Absolutely loved the wizards. Great work!
Thank you for playing and enjoying our game! :D
Fun game! Reminds me of a game you would find in a arcade but maybe that because of the score system :D the crates seemed a little buggy and i noticed lag issues though that might just be me, the art is also really good
Yeah, as development went on I was thinking that it had that arcade like feel with the score system and how it was how long you can last. I wanted to have a high score like an arcade machine so others can see the top scores but that wasn't feasible with the dev time.
I noticed the crates were a bit buggy as well right before submission time so I would have fixed those if possible too. I'm glad you enjoyed it even though you experienced some lag though!
This is kind of the first idea for a game i had, a game where you summon enemies. I also really like the decision to not add healing for the main character (unless there was and I missed it) The horde feels like it’ll never die, it feels like an infinite meat shield, so it’s nice to see that any mistakes are permanent. One thing I would’ve liked to see is wizards and soldiers creating different spawns when killed. Besides that, neat game
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! There is healing from the crates that sometimes spawn but there is a chance for healing, an increase in damage, or nothing at all. We had talked about having different units spawn from which enemy that was defeated but ultimately decided on just making it be random if you got a skeleton or a zombie. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!
Concept: good, perfect fit for the theme at hand!
Gameplay: it's fun, I like how hectic shooting and managing your army gets. The army commanding seemed a little pointless though, I didn't feel like I needed to do it after some point. The necromancy mechanic was kinda bugged, it sometimes worked, sometimes not. Controller support is a bit funky as well, but the fact that it exists in it self is a big plus.
Art: its well drawn but the inconsistent pixel sizes make it all look a bit unpolished.
Audio: nice and fitting all round.
I really appreciate the constructive feedback!
We wanted to add some more features to the minion horde that we just weren't able to get to, but we wanted take some inspiration from Pikmin and having them take out the wizards or the zombies protect from soldiers. The raise mechanic actually was designed to not work every time, but I do see how that could feel inconsistent, especially if the RNG was making it not consistent.
Thank you for playing and giving great feedback though! Will definitely take it into account for future projects!!
Really fun! I had a similar idea. I think some upgrades for your skeletons would be an amazing fit!
Yeah, when I saw yours I was thinking it was going to be similar, but I'm glad both our games have their own unique feels. There is actually a power up that increases the minion's damage but I think it's a bug and not showing or I've just been unlucky and not getting it whenever I play 🤣
This is a jolly game! It was fun and upbeat and intuitive to play. Love the art!
Thank you for playing!! I'm glad that you enjoyed it :D
Now this is a real Necromancer! Maybe would have considered dark magic instead of fireball but otherwise felt very much like a Necromancer soloing an army. Basic and fun gameplay.
Feel free to rate my game as well :)
Thank you for the feedback! I get what you mean and even just making the fireball purple or something would have been a good choice.
I appreciate your comment and I'm glad you liked it! I'll definitely be checking out your game soon when I get the chance! :D
