Great Game! Only issue was trying to use Ctrl+double space but that might just be a skill issue

Very solid platformer with some really nice design! The control scheme was a bit clunky at times. I wish there was more levels to play after learning all the mechanics - but that's just me being greedy and it means I enjoyed the game haha. Thanks for jamming with us :)
The gameplay and level design was really fun, and you managed to make the challenges and upgrades satisfying and context-driven. Getting past the areas which required upgrades felt really earned, and adequately challenging. I really enjoyed the main character sprite, and the idea behind finding different parts of your former self. My only critique is that it would have been nice to have some more hints to what the environment was, because it felt a little bare, some sfx, and maybe some indication for when the double jump is available or not. Good submission!
The gameplay was amazing, I like this kind of platform games its reminds me a lot of Ori.
I only had issues trying to use Ctrl+double space, when I tried to dash and do the double jump somtimes it wasn't recognizing the double jump, but overall it was a really good platform game!
oh, sorry! when you dash, it cancels your vertical momentum entirely, to make it so you can squeeze into tight gaps. if you want to dash then double jump, you can press ctrl after dashing. sorry, we could have made that more clear! i’m glad you enjoy the game, ori definitely has some similar mechanics :)
Reminds me of a few platformers with the jump/dash/wall climbing mechanics, always very good fun!
In the case of this entry I had some trouble with the control scheme because I'm using a macbook. (the "Control" key as is used in a lot of system shortcuts, including "Control + Space" which changes the keyboard layout!)
I feel like this could have been a lot more enjoyable *for me* with a controller! – Though, with Godot's built in input system, it might be compatible?
Anyway, the art is nice, I think that the environment lacks a bit of depth and storytelling, but the character has had a lot of work put in (animations + effects for each limb), and it shows!
Well done :)
I had fun with this one ! Even if the input map (idk if we say that in english but the input) were a bit hard to manage. Fire with enter and dash with ctrl were too far away on my keyboard, maybe using the mouse could have been better but otherwise it was fun and i kept playing even if i struggled with that. The level design was good and maybe the only think missing was a coyote time.
But it's a great game for a jam !!
I am very impressed with the quality of the movement and platforming! It feels really tight and responsive, and all of the abilities make meaningful changes to movement and access. The music is great, and while the visuals are a little sparse, it is very clear and the moments of visual flair are really great. I was spitting fireballs just to see that face pop up. I felt very satisfied getting to the end, great work!
I think you did a great job at getting that Metroidvania feel for this game. You utilized the new abilities well and designed the different parts of the level in a way that built upon them as you continued through. I also loved how you made the sprite feel like a ghost in the afterlife and how the different parts lit up when used. That was definitely a nice touch for sure! I will say the background of the level could have used a bit more contrast or different colors to not be as close to the player sprite, but I do see what you were going with it being the afterlife and all. All in all, great work!!
Concept: interesting spin on the theme.
Gameplay: metroidvanias are ambitious for jam games but you kinda nailed the execution. The level design is super well done, I loved the different platforming segments, they felt fair and introduced the new abilities with really good pacing. The controls for walljumping felt a little tricky and needed some time to get used to.
Art: the spritework's really well done, it all looked nice and consistent. The lack of level background was a bit jarring, I suggest at least setting the color of it to something that matches the level to make it stick out less. Also I think Arial isn't a very good font choice here, fits in poorly with the rest of the art, creates an unpolished look.
Audio: the background track is nice, the lack of sound effects is a bit of a negative though.
I really like this one overall, the presentation isn't perfect, but the game executes the metroidvania-concept amazingly, congrats!
Fun idea! I like when you used the body part it corporealized and i think you did the learn as you go very well.
