Solo developer. I made all the graphics, and code myself during the jam time. Music and SFX were sourced from third-party websites.

Concept: feels a bit tangential to the whole necromancy shtick, gives more vampirism/consumption vibes then reviving the dead vibes. I do like the dark story though, cool stuff.
Gameplay: it's simple and focused. It's easy to pick up, but has enough depth to be engaging. It's also very polished, with a nice tutorial (really rare breed during these jams) and good balancing.
Art: the overall presentation is very good. I really like how the text looks with all the different text effects. The lighting is amazing, creates a fitting dark mood together with the audio. The camera effects are also add a lot of nice gamefeel, very nice and polished. The sprites are very well drawn, though the differing pixel sizes on the scene do hurt the visual coherence a bit.
Audio: the music is pretty good, fits the mood well, and the sound effects are really good, they give every action good feedback.
Very good entry overall, simple but very polished. Congrats!
Thanks for the feedback!
Regarding the necromancy concept, I respectfully disagree, as necromancy isn't just about raising the dead. It also deeply involves communicating with the souls of the deceased. In fact, the very concept of vampirism—specifically draining and absorbing life force—is rooted in the core foundations of necromancy )
I'm really glad you enjoyed the game, and thank you for such a detailed review! I will definitely take many of your points into consideration.
Wow, alright you're a lot more cultured than I am, I didn't know all that about necromancy. I'll go back and modify my score.
;)
It was fun trying to line up all the zombies so i can get them all with one flash, and the flashes itself are pretty satisfying to use. Music was really quiet, I didn't even realize there actually is one when playing lmao. Good job!
Thanks for the feedback!
Both light flashes felt satisfying during gameplay. I enjoyed trying to get as many enemies in the flash as I could while I played. I think that the enemies do kind of swarm a bit too soon as it should be a little more gradual so the player doesn't get overwhelmed. I think a way to power up your light would be a nice touch as well, but isn't detrimental to the overall fun of the game!
Thanks for the feedback! Imo, a 60-second wave with this intensity is just right for a few minutes of gameplay. I really wanted to pack more stuff into the game, but the dev time was limited
Once you put it that way I do see what you mean! The limited dev time does make it tough to determine what to add and leave out so I get it!
I love the way the flashlight sounds and feels. This was super fun, and the tutorial is very well done and natural feeling. I wouldn't have minded it being a bit longer, but short and definitely sweet is great. Awesome work!
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked the flashlight and the tutorial.
Amazing game and mechanics, the art was awesome too!
Thanks for the feedback!
Game worked well, is on theme, and was cool to use light as a mechanic! The flash was a little intense, but not a big deal in the end.
Thanks!
nice art and game. I just suck at this type of games
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
It is a short but fun game, just long enough to introduce this cool scope mechanic. The audio was perfect for this game, particularly while charging your attack. Really well done visuals, love the blood effect when consuming.
Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
This is fun! I love the zooming in and pixelating retro graphics. The movement is very fluid too. It's also creative using your light as a laser gun like an alien movie while it charges up to blast the zombies in a line. The difficulty was kinda high though, maybe the laser could charge faster or the zombies could be more gradual appearing for the first stage. Well done on the atmosphere and effects, keep it up!
Thanks!
Holy shit dude! Looks awesome! Love it, nice gameplay and mechanics, reminds me of Alan Wake games. Absolutely love it
Thanks!
