really loved the vibe and atmosphere!! i think the order of the numbers for the combination lock wasn't super clear, but otherwise thought the puzzles were nice! the story concept and interactivity was cool as well! really good job!!
Great visuals and just overall atmosphere. I love the way the starting room is framed against the constant light of the lighthouse. I wasnt able to solve the lock puzzle but I think I did solve the first message? Not sure.
Only nitpick would be that the light changes color as its going through the office, which confused me for quite some time.
Edit: Actually, one more small thing, interacting with the computer felt a little awkward, the delays were too long between any actions
Would it be possible to get an executable of the game?
I'd love to try it out and leave a review, but the game freezes up a lot in Firefox and Chrome for me.
Thank you!
Hey, appreciate the interest but I don't know if it is against the rules of the jam to add a different build after the submission has passed. I'll add a Windows build after the jam is over if you're still interested.
Nicely done, Once i figured out how to decode it was very engaging. I love the art style and the atmosphere. Some more feed back on the alignment would be nice took me a while to figure that out.
The alignment puzzle was one of the last things to come together, and could probably do with a rework, I agree. Thank you for giving our game a try!
Totally understand, time runs out QUICK!
Very fun and atmospheric!
I think i decoded the second message correctly but just didnt know what to do from there.
But overall great and unique entry!
I got so scared once the lights turned out lol. The atmosphere on this game was super well done! The puzzles were very fun, I would've loved to see more :) This was awesome, great job!
Great puzzle game! It took me a while to finish, but I really liked the story. Decoding the lighthouse keeper’s signals fits the theme really well, and the retro PSX look gave it a creepy mood. Congrats on submitting!
Really nice work on the audio and the atmosphere. I wanted to get into the decoding, but just felt like too much was getting in the way. The default controls felt rough and the mouse sensitivity range was pretty wild. Having to switch between keyboard and mouse to interact vs. leave didn't feel right, and the transition animations and movement felt slow. I think there could be some rewarding gameplay here if the game didn't ask so much of the player at the very beginning. As it was, I lost patience before solving anything.
Still, impressive work for a jam for the parts that I did see. The music and rainfall sound effects are definitely capturing a vibe.
Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked the atmosphere. Do you mind elaborating on what was getting in the way to solving the first puzzle? We cut down a lot of what we wanted for the intro/first puzzle, so if it's still too intimidating it'd be nice to know what we can do better next time.
Sure! To clarify, I stopped at the puzzle with the door lock. Maybe I did decode the first signal, but the result felt more like a punishment than a reward, and didn't leave me with an incentive/hook to continue. That combined with the clunky feel of interactions and my lack of patience halted my progress. I'd probably watch a video of a streamer playing it, though.
There probably was a better way to distinguish from "your solution results in this problem" and "congratulations, you solved it, and now also here's a problem." A good lesson to keep in mind, thank you for the feedback!
Great, engaging puzzles! The atmosphere was on point as well. You should continue developing this idea. Amazing work!
The lighthouse communication idea really shines here, I enjoyed decoding the signals. The art direction is very nice too, it's subtly foreboding. I was waiting for something to jump out at me from the darkness. I really wish it was longer!
