Super cute, adored the visuals. I appreciate the bubble for if you spend too long on the lights.
Thank you! The hint was a quick solution for not very good puzzle design, but I guess it works that way too.
Lovely visual presentation and sound design! Everything felt immediately impressive from start to finish. I'm rather fond of the BGM as well.
Thank you!
Yooooo this was gorgeous! I loved the visual aesthetic you ended up with, great combo of photograph and illustration. Everything else really nicely complimented the game, and it would be fun to polish this and have a variety of puzzles and places to explore. I did find that the inventory was difficult to access, so I wonder if a different control scheme would help, or tuning the position the mouse could be in to cause it to enter the screen. All totally forgivable though and I had a great time with it, really amazing considering you said it's your first game project. Great work!
Thanks! Were you playing on Mac?
Nope, when I played it I was on a Windows PC running it in a browser (browser was Vivaldi). I had the game set to full screen when I played, but just tested again and have the same issue out of full screen. I actually think I can tell what's happening; My cursor leaves the game, even in full screen, for a moment, which causes the menu to close or stutter between open and closed. I can tell that's what's happening because my cursor briefly changes from your custom one to the standard OS cursor for a moment when the "stutter" happens. Because of this, I doubt this would be an issue testing it in the engine or on a desktop build. I think for the browser version you might be able to improve this by increasing the size of the corner of the screen where mouse entry triggers the inventory opening? I'm not sure, though. You might also be able to just bypass the event that closes the menu if the cursor leaves the play area while the menu is open. It's a very nitpicky thing but this game is so cool that I hope you continue building similar stuff, and if you do that, it's probably worth it to fix even small problems like this.
Thank you a lot for detailed information!
Really impressive little game, especially for a first project!
The presentation is easily the standout for me. The stump, moss, tiny pathways, plants, and little creatures all feel like they belong in the same world.
Everything has this charming, almost miniature-diorama quality to it, and I really like how you’ve built the game around that environment.
I also thought the audio was very well done. The ambient sounds and little interaction effects fit naturally into the scene and help bring everything to life without being distracting.
Gameplay-wise, it’s a fairly simple point-and-click experience. You’re guiding this little creature around, activating switches, lighting things up, and figuring out how the different elements interact. The puzzles weren’t especially challenging, but I enjoyed working through them and seeing what each interaction would do.
I also liked how the signals were incorporated into the environment, from the electrical connections to the sound-based interactions with the little bug.
It gives the mechanics a nice connection to the jam theme.
For me, the biggest opportunity would be expanding on the puzzle design. The presentation is strong enough that I’d love to see more involved interactions and puzzles that really take advantage of this little world.
Overall, a charming experience with a surprisingly cohesive presentation.
For your first game, you’ve set a pretty high bar for yourself. Nicely done!
Thank you! Yeah, that's the plan: firstly, expand my experience in Godot, secondly, expand everything else, haha.
Sounds like a good plan! You’ve already got a great eye for presentation, so I’m curious to see what you build as you get more comfortable with Godot. Keep at it!
you got me on that title screen achievements, very nice art!!!
Really? Haha, thanks!
It's an amazing result for a first game!
Absolutely wonderful visuals and very fitting audio design. Thank you for this experience.
Truly beautiful, do more!
Thank you! I will do something more for sure.
Beautiful game and very impressive for your first! The audio design was great, from the wobbly plants to the carpet. I loved the little wires connecting to different things. You should be proud!
Thank you! I recorded this wobbly sound years ago for an animated short and ended up not using it, now finally it's hour has come, haha.
Wow, beautiful game ! You got that Amanita vibe down with your own spin to it.
I wanted more levels :)
Thank you!
The art is sick! Beautiful game! It's pretty rare to see a point-and-click game nowadays. How did you come up with the idea? And what inspired the art style?
Thank you! I mean, it all comes to what am I good at and what I need to learn. I'm good at macro photography, animation and couple other things, and I want to learn game design and some coding. I tried Popochiu and figured out I could make point-and-click game with my minimal programming knowledge. Also I quite like these types of games, the first games that I played in my childhood were point-and-click (Neverhood, for example).
I don't think there was a moment when I came up with a particular idea. I photographed this stump because I thought it had potential to be used as a background, and then looked at the photo and tried to put different elements in different places.
AHH! I really liked it! 🤩
The perfect music, the concept is brilliant and simple, it is cute and I appreciate the mixed media with the macrophoto you used as a base for your game! ❤️✨
It took me a little time to find out what to do, but that reminded me that that's part of the game to figure it out. Amazing!
I'm putting 5 stars everywhere in my ratings! Good job ;D
Photograpy is a really good idea. I would like a whole video game of this universe. ^u^
Thank you for the kind words! I didn't expect such a warm response to my game, it means a lot to me.
No problem ;) I really mean it ❤️
Congrats on your first game! :D
Loved the aesthetic, both visuals and sound. Great job!
Thanks!
Loved the aesthetic, both visuals and sound. Great job!
very beautiful art style and the music was catchy! i like the little achievements you can get too! nice job!!
Glad you liked the music! Thanks!
Gorgeous aesthetic! I’d say you really captured the Amanita feel :)
Thank you!
It's solid and has a great potential. Thank you!
That was beautiful! Would love to see more of your photography in another gamejam or if you've got a link to a website. Keep it up!
Thank you so much! Didn't have a website, but made it really quick, why not? Here: https://pchelovek1205.portfoliobox.net/
I don't really post macro photos to social media, except for iNaturalist, but there good photos are buried in between a lot more "quick and dirty" ones. But here is my profile there: https://www.inaturalist.org/people/2992263
I love the art!
Perfect sized game for a jam. Really liked the art and feel.
Thanks!
I think it is great, that you combined something from your life in this game! The stump looks stunning. It was a short nice puzzler.
Thank you!
This was beautiful, I was shocked with the art style, although short it was still a really nice experience
Thank you!
