It did not work for me and my friend initially when trying to connect between Windows Chrome and Debian Chrome/Chromium, I'm glad I gave it more tries and managed to get it going between 2 Windows Chrome machines :) I played it with my friend, we did not communicate in any other way than via in-game arrow symbols, so we got full game experience. The puzzles were well-thought and hard, we managed to go through initial walls and to the gates, we even managed to open 2 of them by passing found codes and found a key to something, but got stuck afterwards due to our lack of cooperation and somehow the screen broke for one of us (when player was moving between screens the camera stayed in the old one, although he could hear that there is something happening and could blindly get back into camera view, although camera was like stuck - it was near the screen where there is code to West Gate btw). Not sure if it was intended (I believe so), when entering some doors to something cave-like (near west gate as well), only one of us could go through and we had to communicate when one of us was on a tiny strip of land near the gate so he could see the other one - that was surprising, but in a good way, for the first time it happens (not sure if there are other places like this as we got stuck moments later) you might add a sound and/or a popup saying the door closed/latched, we were confused for 5-10 seconds what happened, without communication the other one tried entering there for a few times and we were not sure if the one that went inside did not just get kicked :P That was the only moment we texted each other just to verify we're both still playing. This is just QoL improvement btw, and does not affect my positive feelings towards this game. Very impressive for a jam game, very ambitious and very entertaining/fun. It's a horrible pity that you did not get more playtests and votes, the game is really nicely designed and engaging, I think we'll try to get back to it after the jam just to try to finish it, during one of the autumn/winter evenings.
very fun, glad i got to play it! the co-op puzzles and art style are sweet! really good first project with multiplayer networking too! nice job!!
Awesome job with this! I had a great time. Loved the art style. Insanely ambitious for a jam but I'm glad you went for it!
Thanks for playing it with me, it was fun. I'll play and rate yours in return
If you decide to continue developing your game and need some help with anything or even a future playtest let me know! I think you've got the bones of something really good here.
This game looks gorgeous, and it's a pity it has so few reviews! I don't have anyone to play with right now :( It would be really nice to have both single-player and multiplayer modes, because I really want to give it a try! D:
very good :)
This was so fun and cute! We got to the part where you have the light, but there was some type of bug maybe where some doors were open for my partner but not me and then a door sounded like it was bugging somewhere? Also one of the note in the button puzzle seemed to be bugged as it was a blank line.
Super cute and fun still! Feels like a full game, very good for couples
It's a desync bug that I couldn't quite fix
I'm glad you enjoyed it nonetheless, thanks for playing!
Dylan and I both attempted to play the game together, but unfortunately, we were unable to get the multiplayer functionality working.
Despite this, we were still able to review the game through screenshots and discuss its overall concept. We both agreed that the idea was interesting and had the potential to be a lot of fun.
Feedback: The pixel font used may make it slightly difficult to distinguish between uppercase and lowercase letters. Consider using a font with clearer letterforms to improve readability.
Oh, that's a bummer... I hope you manage to play it again at some point
Could you describe what happened when you tried to play together? Were you unable to connect at all or did the game freeze?
We Received "Session Not Found" We even tried different Browsers.
Oh, I think this error message only appears if you type the wrong session codes, but I'm not sure
Guess this proves the font choice was not very good indeed
The session codes font could be more readable, we also had that issue for a moment when some pixelart letters were not fully readable for my friend (that doesn't play many pixelart games), also the copy button somehow does not work in the browser (it gets blocked, at least on mine and my friend's laptops, some security issue) and later pastes invalid code - maybe those are the reasons :) It also did not work in browser on any other OS than Windows for me and my friend (we tried linux+windows and linux+mac and windows+mac combinations before we tried windows+windows, not tried any of the native builds - it's impressive btw you got smooth multiplayer in browsers!)
