This is adorable! I had a lot of fun with this, great mix of pikmin management with incremental game satisfaction. The art style is fun and the crayon cutscenes are awesome. Great sense of humor, had a smile the whole time. Great job!

Move over, Pikmin! We’re playing Buzztugs now.

The cuteness of this was achieved. I was kinda waiting for the horror turn, so when I got to the graveyard I thought something bad might be about to happen to my Buzztugs. Not saying I WANTED that to be the case, but maybe an element of challenge/threat would make it a more memorable experience.

Very cute and charming, if a bit glitchy, loved the cutscenes and the character models

Extremely charming if a bit glitchy, loved the cutscenes and the character designs

First off, incredible work! This is really incredible for a jam game, I was blown away. Maybe it's the pikmin nostalgia coming in a little, but I was super engaged. Can't say I've ever seen a crayon-drawn intro, that was cool. The art was crispy and consistent. The second to second gameplay was solid. And the sfx/music was cohesive. If there's any criticism I would offer is that it gets a bit stale towards the end. I gave up at the space ship, felt like I saw everything at that point. I think around then is when you would have to show me a new unit type or something to keep me interested (maybe the pumpkins allow a new type to hatch for instance). Great work!

You ever play a game so good you get pissed off?

Buzztugs is a Simple, short, and sweet incremental game that is taken to the next level through it's incredible presentation. the Crayon drawing artstyle for the UI and cutscenes is so charming, and I wish you could have seen my face the first time I saw a Buzztug. Not only is this an incredibly rewarding and relaxing time, but the buzztugs themselves path surprisingly well and I had no issues completing anything despite my dudes being all over the place. Bravo, genuinely bravo.

My god this was so cute!

This game genuinely had me crying. I love my little buzztugs so much they were each born of an egg and that makes them special :D

Incredibly delightful experience, the hand-drawn cutscenes were awesome, and the music fit perfectly.

Vibes immaculate. I am entranced by the buzztugs

I have only known the buzztugs for 30 minutes, but I would elect them as president. Every single one. If a buzztug ended my life I'd be a little annoyed but overall satisfied.

Cute and accessible, with great visuals and a pleasant, autumnal vibe. It's great seeing folks taking a stab at the mechanics that Pikmin explored- it's clear there's lots more to be done with the genre.

I'm glad you thought of Pikmin ╰(*°▽°*)╯

A fantastic little pikmin-lite - satisfying, adorable, and pretty well-paced.

Honestly my biggest gripe with the game is that there are I think 103 little guys available in total, when clearly there should be exactly 100 little guys.

This is very minor, but I'd also love to see the gap that you bridge allow you to fall into it instead of having invisible walls, with may be a little staircase up back to the side you start from. I think it would feel a little more natural that way, but would also allow you to do a silly sequence break. Same in the start - the breakable crystal has a huge invisible wall attached to it to prevent you from passing it early. But if it weren't for the invisible wall, you could do a jump from further back and use multiple midair egg lays to get up above it early and progress past it. I like being able to get away with that sort of thing, especially when it doesn't really break anything major like in these cases.

Completely fair point on the 103 buzztugs :)

Having more sequencing elements or connectedness to the world would be great I completely agree. The buzztugs got all angry and glitchy if there was stuff blocking their path, so had to throw big hitboxes there to keep things calm within the time, but this is a great idea. Thank you for playing!

I was actually happy about the invisible wall because one of my pumpkins rolled down the ledge and was about to fall off then was stopped by it. I would have been upset if my pumpkin was lost.

yeah, it would definitely be important to have a stairway/ramp back up on the side you start from to prevent that from actually losing materials entirely
