Super neat limitation, the flashlight freezing mechanic was awesome! Unfortunately, like some others, I didn't get very far because of some performance issues.

This was a big, ambitious game for a 2 week jam, and I get the feeling this one got away from you a bit. It just feels a bit unfinished. For example, I get the feeling the red squares are a stand-in for an enemy sprite that never got created/implemented. The performance issues, and the lack of an intro explaining what's going on.

The art was great, and I really appreciated the music here! It fit the vibe of the game well

Don't let any of that discourage you, this is actually a really great game concept and you should absolutely finish it out now that the jam is done!

Thank you for your feedback! We are going to fix the performanceissues as well as adding the missing art/story in next versions.

Nice and cleverly designed puzzles!
It was mostly easy to figure out what to do and solving it felt very rewarding!

Probably a skill issue, but it was very trial and error how I place the lanterns and light it up :D

I really enjoy the gameplay and puzzles, but sadly it was so laggy for me that I finaly gave up on the game on the puzzle with the flashlight blinking and the 3 lanterns… :/ Despite of those performance issues, great work on the game, the concept is super interesting and I enjoyed the atmosphere and art direction! GG!

Thanks! We'll try to fix the lag in next versions.

This seems really cool! Had some crashes quite early, but it's impressive to see this kind of mechanic being implemented. The way the light was effected by obstacles was great. I'm sure you're wanting to polish this further and add narrative and missing artwork etc, but from what I've seen the main crit is probably that the music feels a bit too intense. I want to ease in to the spookiness. Thanks for sharing your game!

Why this is not in the top 3, i understand there are some assets with props and not all the map is finish. but its already a good presentation of a game ? you have 4 levels with puzzles it makes you think around your elements. far enough it feels rewarding playing it. this game should get more attention than anything. i really loved the pixel art its so polish and will drag me to play it everytime. Great game!

Thank you so much!

I thought this was a great use of the limitation, and the flashlight mechanic was really cool to see implemented like this! Art and audio for y'alls game was solid, though I do think there was a missed opportunity to give the monster more character; I'd have tried to either bring in more art/animation for it or leaned in even harder to the box/obfuscated aesthetic (maybe they're literally under a box but you only see little glowing eyes peek out when you stop them with your flashlight, or it's censored/blurred out so you never get to actually see it). I got stuck on the puzzle with multiple lanterns, but I gave it several tries before throwing in the towel and had fun along the way.

BTW the game seems to crash the tab on Safari/macOS—there weren't any logs output to the dev console or I'd have shared those. Not sure why. It did work for me when I played it in Firefox.

Really enjoyed this one! It took me a minute to figure out what the things in my hands were, and that the box chasing me was dangerous, but it was a lot of fun! I did run into a bug of some variety - on the 3rd or 4th puzzle (the one with 3 switches all in a square area) the game got really stuttery, then froze up completely. So I didn't get all the way to the end, but the art and soundtrack were both beautiful!

Also, one Godot dev to another, whenever you're aiming for web builds it's a good idea to have a second non-escape key assigned as Pause, as in any web builds Esc will either release mouse control or exit fullscreen. I've started just always binding a Pause input to both Escape and "P" for good measure.

Thank you for your feedback! We keep looking forward to update the game after the jam ends.

We will find a way to optimize the game and we’ll keep in mind your suggestion about the pause button!
