Hi !

I had fun, well done :) The music contributes to a funny and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a minigame. The game works well and I enjoy the concept. It's a basic gameplay but it works very well with the theme, its fun, and well balanced. Thanks !

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the kind feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed the gameplay and the music!

Submitted(+1)

This was fun from start to finish! The theme was executed really well too, great job! (I can’t leave this comment without mentioning that banger of a track…really well done ^V^)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked the music! I used free assets for the music and sound effects, but I put a lot of thought into choosing them!

Submitted(+1)

The game is very fun and the music is very good!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the game and the music!

I only understood the instructions how to play when I reached the second level. At first I thought I had to move close to a frog to see if the radar turns green, which resulted in many very bad tries. After I reached level two I realized I can't catch anything as long as the indicator is black and so on... so... after that being out of the way, the game got a lot more enjoyable, before it felt very random. I am still not very good at it and didn't get that much further... probably would have if I hadn't spent so much time in the first level trying to figure it out 🙈 nice game

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the detailed feedback!

I'm glad you enjoyed the game once you got the hang of it. I can see how the rules might be confusing at first, so I'll keep that in mind for future improvements!

Very fun to play! I think it needed a sound effect to indicate color change.

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

That's a great suggestion. An audio cue for the color change would definitely help!

Music was definitely a standout :) I liked the difficulty curve

Developer

Thank you!! I'm really glad you enjoyed the music and the difficulty curve!

really fun lil mini-game! i think the music is gonna be stuck in my head, it's really catchy lol. nice job!

Developer

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it!

I put a lot of thought into the sound effects and music, so I’m happy to hear that!

Awesome idea :)

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you like the idea!

I like the details you added like being able to toggle the HUD on/off, and giving a hint as to which way the frogs were going to go by their face direction. Made it a lot easier to weave between them and catch the ones I needed. I definitely had my palms sweating when I was close to winning a level, especially the later ones haha.

That background music is perfect btw, very catchy and found myself bobbing to it which helped reduce the pain whenever I lost :p

Great game, thanks for the fun time!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for noticing the frogs' facing directions! At first, I had them move in completely random directions, but it made their movements too unpredictable and the game too difficult.

The BGM is a free asset, but I took my time choosing one that would fit the atmosphere of the game.

Thanks so much for playing!

Banger tunes! Unfortunately I didn't quite understand what the signal itself was, so I spent quite a few times getting randomly blown up by the cute frogs! A tutorial would've been nice, or a brief description in the page itself! Great work though, look forward to playing your future games!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing!

I put a lot of thought into choosing the sound effects and music.

The rule was to catch the frogs that match the color of the Color Signal in the top-left corner of the screen.

You're right, I definitely should have included a tutorial or a short description on the game page!

Feels like it would be a perfect mario party minigame. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! That's such a nice compliment!

I was going for the vibe of classic pixel art games, so I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! Love the pixel art and sound effects, and it has a really tight gameplay loop! A tutorial would be nice, though. I didn't quite understand what I was supposed to do at first. All the frogs looked the same to me, so I tried each one differently, and then they all exploded on me ._.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I'm really happy you enjoyed the gameplay loop! I put a lot of effort into getting the pacing right, especially by tweaking things like the pause timings.

And yeah, a tutorial is definitely needed! I ran out of time to add one for this jam, but it's something I absolutely want to include.

  • Right off the bat, I like the sound effects
  • These are some very unpredictable/capricious frogs
  • I seem to have cleared stage 2 with only 2 red frogs (and 3 each of the rest)?
  • Definitely got hectic by the end of level 3 but I survived. I like the differing win conditions between the levels.

A good test of "how greedy am I going to get chasing these frogs." Good work!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the great feedback!

I put a lot of thought into choosing the sound effects, so I’m glad you liked them! I’ve actually had the same thing happen with stage 2, and I’m still trying to figure out what causes it.

Very nice! Fun, quick and understandable.
I think I was a bit unlucky in the second level, and had to wait quite a while for a third yellow frog to spawn, but it wasn't a big deal. I would also have liked a volume slider somewhere, the music was very catchy but a bit loud.
Overall good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

You're right, a volume slider would definitely be helpful. I'll keep that in mind for future games!

This game is sooo fun! Was a little confused at first what the signal meant, but once I figured it out everything was amazing. Great work!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing!

I felt the signal could be a little confusing too. Definitely something to improve on for future games!

Submitted(+1)

is a nice game . that music is so CRAZY. at first i thanked the circle that all ways changing it color is the signal:) but then i see that on top left on the screen has the color frog that you have to catch.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing!

I also felt that the signal in the top-left corner wasn't very easy to notice, so that's definitely something I could improve!

Submitted(+1)

hahaha that victory music stinger is CRAZY work.

Developer(+1)

Feels SO rewarding, right? LOL

THATS CUTE!! image.png

It felt like a nintendo DS multiplayer mini game haha! Good memories!! I think the color signal UI should have been more obvious, or replaced by something that takes the full screen. All the information shown on the screen are not really important when you are playing! So you could have a border of the color of the frogs and a big text in the top center that says “Waiting for signal…” then “CATCH GREEN FROGS”! when it picks a color.

Nice little game otherwise!! Congrats on your first wild jam!!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I also felt that the signal wasn't noticeable enough during gameplay. I'll definitely consider ways to make it more prominent.

Thanks for the great suggestions and for playing my game!

Submitted(+1)

Fun little game, I just wish the signal wasn't completely random. At some point, I spent a minute not being able to catch anything because the signal didnt pick a color I needed

It also would be nice for the signal itself to have an audio cue or be placed more to the center, so I could tell its about to change without having to look away from the center of the screen

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

That's a good point about the signal being random.

An audio cue is also a great idea!

I'll keep these in mind for future improvements.
