Like the other, I found that the game had a lot of potential, but way too overwhelming as is, it needs a learning curve in a way or an other :/ I finally managed to make 20$ and saw that as a huge achievement (I really am super proud) Maybe the game is more easy to take in hands for people who are used to play games with a lot of inputs, like pc fps, but as a casual, figuring out where were the keys in such a short amount of time, with them being all over the place was super hard. Jumping from b to w to 1 isn’t something intuitive (just picture in your head your average grandma looking at her controler each time she has to press an input, and you’ll have a good idea of what my play time looked like)

IT didn’t allow me any time to notice the limitation so out of curiosity, how did you build your game around it?

Also the art is super cute, reminds me of 2000’s cartoons like ed edd eddy! You also carefully sync the input rythm with the music, and you’d be tempted to say “well it’s a rythme game”, but I played several rythme game in jams that missed that mark, so kudos!

Thanks for playing and for such a detailed review!

For the art, the concept was in fact disney/games for girls/cartoon network style flash games from the early 2000s, so kudos for picking that up!! Also glad to hear the music synced well for you, because we had some issues on some player's devices with that.

Also thanks for the grandma mental image, haha. That's also an interesting point - I think as a dev I am used to touch typing so multiple keys are not a big deal. Tbh it's interesting to see how much I underestimated how difficult it would be for people (^-^;

In terms of the limitation, that's where the "switch screens to make the burgers" comes in. The idea is you can get the highest score by making burgers whenever you run out of customers, and then when you "look back" more customers have arrived who you can then sell said burgers too. I thought about adding more to this like customers having a time limit so if you took too long making burgers they would disappear as well (more "changing while you look away") but thought this might be too hard - and thank god I didn't lol.

Cheers again and congrats on making $20 :) I think after this jam I'll add in a bit more tutorial / controls build-up so that it's more playable in the off-chance anyone ever stumbles upon it again xD

Ho I’m the programer for my team too, but I never took the time to learn proper typing, I’m a 2 finger-eyes on keyboard typer xD I also tend to do a lot of clumsy typos and my hands are small, all of those were working against me 🥸

I still genuinly enjoyed that game so I’ll save it somewhere, because I can totaly see myself coming back to it if you add some introduction stages with fewer controls, and/or slower pace! And now that you mention it, it’s true that the turn around of customers only happened when I was making burgers, I’ll fix my limitation rating to acknowledge that 🙂‍↕️

And I played a lot of those games as a child, no wonder it felt familiar! You really captured the vibe of that era to a t!
