hey fellow karma dev. Very nice game, I liked the setting that it's not a dark, but foggy setting. Also liked the "spirit" design, felt very folkloristic. the stones piling up was a good indicator. could've introduced further jump scares along the way. And I liked the talking sounds, very Banjo-Kazooie!

Developer

Thank you very much and thanks for playing!
Also thank you for the feedback! I was planning to do some minor jumpscares but didn't have the time in the end, and it made the game felt a bit empty because the ambience alone won't do it tbh :') Maybe I'll do it after the rating period!
Ahh, good to hear! I feared that the speaking would get irritating in the longer dialogue scenes, but glad you liked it! :)

Nice trip to the forest, even tho i got lost and was never to be seen again. But hey at least that friendly stranger i met got his beloved drum back!

Developer

Ahh, the forest claims another one :(
Thank you for taking the stroll to the forest!
Yupp! at least one of the forest dwellers made happy :)

Really neat game! Gives me lost woods/nintendo vibes. I really like the art and models! really pleasing aesthetic.
Is there a specific folk lore story this is based off of? Id like to look into it! I did NOT like being chased by that creature though ;_; I kept thinking he was going to show back up right before i got out

Thank you so much and thank you for playing! :)

Sure! In Finnish its "Metsänpeitto", but here's a short wiki article which explains it pretty well, if you want to check it out!

Ahh! I tried to make the chase sequence as tight as possible and had a lot of fun with it, but glad you survived it after all :)

Torille! :DDDD
Found my way out of the forest! Great job with the game!

Developer

Torilla tavataan! :D
That's good to hear! At least I didn't break anything during the last bug squishing session x)
Thank you so much and thank you for playing! :)

Lovely vibe! Really nice game :) Love how you used the fog to hide the level transitions. The person that I brought the stolen drum had a very creepy vibe, which I especially enyjoed. Great job!

Thank you and thanks for playing! :)
I was kinda lost with the character designs because they were on the very late part of the development process, but glad you liked it!

Well nice use of fog. Maybe you are already planning to create it's second part

Developer(+1)

Thank you!
Possibly in the future yes, if I can come up with a more polished idea for lore and such and it could happen :)
Thanks for playing!

Very enjoyable to play. The story was interesting, and the aesthetics fit nicely. Not sure why you chose UE though.

Developer

I've been using UE for several years now in all my projects, and I'm most familiar with the workflow it has :) I have tried and gonna try out different engines for different kind of games, because UE can be a great hassle in optimizing stuff and trying to make 2D games, and don't wanna be stuck in that loop forever.
Thank you and thanks for playing!
