How was this made In 7 days bro. Art is good, animations, Mechanics are really well thought out. Love bonking the crows. Nice Job :)

Developer

Thank you!! Our artist & composer are rockstars, and I (programmer) put a lot of time and effort into the underlying systems. The actual game didn't solidify until we were basically out of time, so it's not the most balanced game in the world, but we knew we wanted to make something focused and polished!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

I had so much fun playing this!!

Very well thought out and charming game. Challenging but not too hard, I managed to beat the murder on my second run.
I love the aesthetic! I know you were inspired by Don't Starve which is one of my favourite games so I was hooked on the style from the start. The music is also very enjoyable. And I loved the writing, it has lots of personality!

My only gripe is that the crows are just so adorable that I felt bad bonking them haha
I shall remain as SpookedMoth on the leaderboard!

Yay! Thanks so much for playing!

Nice entry! A well-thought out game. Everything about it is polished, and the animations were spot on. The main character wasn't boring to look at, and communicated the dread he was facing.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and such kind words!

This was really fun! The gameplay during the night got WAY too fast too often though, I just kept mashing buttons and it seemed to work? Really cool concept

Developer

Thank you! Hard agree - we got to something that felt fun for the game jam and kind of ran out of time to balance it lol. Thank you for playing!

Nice I beat it ✌︎㋡ . That was so polished for a week and really big in scope, a rogue lite? in a week wow, visuals and music were very good. I do feel the gameplay does get pretty chaotic and it feels like individual choices have less meaningful impacts later into the game.  I also (like an idiot) skipped dad's shop multiple times and missed out on upgrades by accident. I think this just needs maybe more balancing but it's really good as is. Also, noticed some very minor visual bugs where I could do stuff like moonwalk, but I was recording so you might be able to catch them.

Thank you so much for playing and for the video! The recording was crazy helpful in so many ways, and it was awesome to watch someone play the game out.

Yeah, the scope was definitely high! We kind of started ambitious and cut stuff as we found what was working and what wasn't, what we had time / motivation for / etc. Huge props to our artist and composer for grinding to get the look and sound just right.

I agree with you about the balance issues - I'm sure I'll spend many hours in the weeds getting it to feel good as the game is fully fleshed out haha.

It's like Crack, If Crack had beautiful marketing (Art) and engaging AF Tower Defense Roguelite game play! Also If you haven't tried starved mode two things
1. Shame
2. Why aren't you trying it?

This is fantastic! The game mechanics are simple and easy to pick up, and they do certainly get smore challenging as you go!
The art style is beautiful, with that delightful old school comic book edge to it!

If this makes it out onto another platform, I'd definitely purchase it!

I had a fantastic time playing this game! I loved the art, the combat feels really satisfying, and the devs did an incredible job of making you feel just as frantic and terrified as Wendle when your crops are swarmed by crows. I would highly recommend!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing our game and saying such nice things about it. We appreciate it so much!

That felt like a great mix of farming, tower defense and whack-a-mole.
Whacking crows was sooooo satisfying.
I found it a bit hard to use the soul trader. Night is so short, crops are getting attacked constantly, a few times ALMOST visited him, but night ended. He sells meaningful upgrades and he's definitely worth visiting even if you're losing some of corn for that, so left me a tiny bit confused.
Overall, great mix of genres <3

This game was such a chaotic blast! My first night was rough but once it clicked, I spent the next few nights bonking so many crows. The art and music were super charming. I'm happy y'all have a save feature since I am definitely coming back to this!

Developer

Heck yeah! Thank you SO much for trying out our game and for being the first person to leave a comment :)
