How does your song embody the theme "fight or flight"?
It evokes adrenaline through rhythm and instrumentation to build tension and suspense from beginning to end - it's pretty goated

i can't imagine what its like cooking on strudel its already hard enough in a regular daw lmaooo creative af

Thanks so much! We had a lot of fun and learned a lot, especially since we never used it before the jam. It was a blast!

Thanks so much for listening and commenting!

Felt very flight like in the beginning. Using that airy sound helps a lot. Felt the almost chasing intensity at the end. It is a little repetitive and the bass is way louder than it should be, you can see that in the waveform, and in your DAW you should see the levels bouncing up and down, (which you don't usually want).

Developer(+3)

Thanks for the feedback! We didn't use a DAW, so we weren't able to review the waveforms as described. We will review the code in Strudel and see about pushing an update once voting ends.

Hey, while we appreciate your comment, I would recommend reading the description and other comments in the future before doing so. It’s a bit frustrating to see such a fundamental misunderstanding of the process which we used when our methodology is explained both in the description and in other comments/replies. We used strudel, which is code based and is not a DAW. We had no access to the levels or waveform, and all we could see was the gain, which we had the bass set very very low haha (0.05 gain compared to 0.6 on the main voices).

I understand that this was not your intention, but to me this comment reads like you telling a person, who does not own a dishwasher, that they should’ve used more detergent… :/

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I saw something about Strudel, didn’t know what it was, assumed it was a DAW. You could take my comment however you would like. I also wanted to type my comment before looking at others, as looking at other’s opinions could shape mine differently. It’s cool seeing a song made out code though.

its awesome that so much effort was given to make a unique project like this using an unusual way to make music haha, as for the music it is really cool. the first minute was something i couldnt explain like it was emotional but the rest was not as good unfortunately. the mixing too, its not very good especially with everything except the bass being super quiet and the waveform looking like a spine lol

Developer(+2)

Thanks so much for the great feedback! Yeah, since we weren't using a DAW, we had no access to see the waveform until it was uploaded through the AudItch tool. The original mix sounded very different in the code, so we're reviewing that and exporting solutions to update it once the voting ends.

Never heard of Strudel, This is absolutely amazing!
Cool structure with the different parts (by different people I think?)
It could use a bit more mastering and/or mixing. Like at least normalize it, I checked and there's 10db of headroom to boost volume.

I especially loved the violin, it has a lot of emotion in it! 😁

Thanks, yeah, we were all writing different bits and finding ways to layer them together, so we were lucky to have access to some shared coding tools to have a living working space. However, it sounded different live in the code system, and we didn't have access to waveforms, so we didn't realize how different the levels were upon export. Definitely appreciate the feedback on that, and it's on our radar for an update once we find the lines of codes that spiked like that.

Insanely impressive! Such a difficult way of making music but you've done really well! Pretty goated

Developer(+3)

Thanks, it was a lot of fun, and we learned how to code in the tool during the game, so we definitely stacked up some difficulty too, haha

As a fan of unecessarily complicated and slightly silly, but very cool, ways to do things, this is super fun! When my Fiancee inevitably gets mad at me for spending hours going down the Strudel rabbit hole, I'm sending her your way.

Developer(+3)

We're so glad you liked it! Strudel has plenty of rabbit holes - have fun exploring them!
