Historical Accuracy
Broadcast to the Moon includes facts on everything from food to lunar probes, with art inspired by real photos of the Space Race. [See game page for references].
Thematic Relevance
This card game is based on the importance of television broadcasting during the Space Race: infrastructure, heroes, and the impressionable youth who would eventually become astronauts and cosmonauts themselves.
Place your resources at locations from the era; compete with your rival faction and tune through the interrupting static with tv dials (our 'strange' mechanic).
Disclaimers
No AI, sensory content warning for high-pitched tone and flashing lights.

Incredibly beautiful art direction as everyone else said, but also very interesting concept about propaganda and impressionable kids! I realized only in the last turn that I put another card down on a location to start the broadcast, that one flew over my head. Once I understood that, I finally understood how complex and interesting the mechanics are. I still won without really thinking, but balancing and card design simply take time. The foundation is very solid though. I think this is an incredible job in such a short time, amazingly scoped. Great job!
Thank you! We worked so hard on it! I'm very happy to get a response like this!
Yes, improving the opponent (and maybe adding player vs player games) are goals for us after the jam, stay tuned! I do think we need to improve the board UI / tutorial for Broadcasting as well so it's clear from the start.
So beautiful the cards are and now creative you have been. What inspired your rule set? I really appreciate the number of possible combinations with these cards. It took me a while to look at the itch page for the rules, thank you for a good description. Ok, I’ve rated your game and now need to go back and play again. I can win this time!
Thank you! Definitely a bit of a read first game so we appreciate the patience.
To answer your question: Our primary inspirations were the boardgames Pandemic Legacy, Wingspan, Lords of Waterdeep and Seven Wonders – but with a more ‘kids-sharing’ worldly resources vibe.
Definitely going to polish and deepen this game so the encouragement is appreciated!
I had a lot of trouble reading the text - great font but very hard to read even with the CRT effect turned off.
It took me a while to notice the Toggle CRT button by the way and I was pretty close to quitting.
The TV tuning is absolutely brilliant - I am old enough to remember the test card, the high pitched tone and TV controls like that and you nailed it.
Thanks for the feedback! Arkasaur has been working on cleaning up the CRT, brightness, and card size all week (we had the same concerns seeing its size in the browser).
Glad you found the toggle in time to see some gameplay!
I tried again and it's much clearer now. One nice improvement would be if hovering over the cards made them bigger rather than having to right-click. I kept forgetting to do that (RMB) and I couldn't read the card text in the reduced size - particularly when it's sideways :) - even when putting my browser to full-screen.
Still love the old TV effect.
looks really stylish, one of my favourite art directions of the whole jam.
I wish the cards were a bit more readable, especially because they do look really nice and that the gameplay was better fleshed out. As it is, I just played randomly and still won by a wide margin.
Thank you for the kind words!
Readability is definitely our first-to-fix priority, and we know it needs refinement. But good catch on the opponent; we know this needs work too to be actually robust. A little beyond our scope in ten days, but your point stands!
Nice card game, thank you!
I like the sketching art style. The sound effects are immersive. It's nice that you added the toogle for CRT - the effect can be annoying after a while.
It would be better to have a reminder that examining (right click) a card facing up from the discovery pool can be put back down with right click. To avoid wasting action points.
I think the turn countdown is broken? It was turn 0 a few times. It's a minor issue.
There is a feeling of a competition but it's a bit weird that each side can play both types of cards. Maybe there can be some advantages for using your own faction's cards and penalties when using the rival faction cards? This would make it more difficult to balance.
Good luck!
Thanks for the feedback!
I've been working on an improved shader for the CRT effect - so once we can update it should be much more pleasant! Just an issue with web browser refresh rates affecting the quality. Good thought on the right-click reminder, I will add it!
Our goal was to push faction-advantages through soft-synergies and starting you with a set of faction cards, but we have since also discussed some more effects that care for the factions (an Event that cares about you playing your own faction's cards for example).
We've loved making this so much that we are discussing continuing it in the future, so keep an eye out!
Eu irei voltar a este jogo mais tarde. Não entendi exatamente o que deveria fazer (talvez um manual fosse uma boa ideia), mas, de cara, visuais impressionantes e uma atmosfera cativante.
I've updated the page with a "How to Play", hopefully it helps!
Google translate: Eu atualizei a página com um "Como Jogar", espero que ajude!
Took me a moment to understand what I was doing, but figured it out and won my first run! Love the art style/direction, and that the entire game takes place inside the TV, though I wish I could have seen the hand-drawn cards a little more clearly! Great job!
Glad you enjoyed the game! I'll add a card library viewer after the Jam ends so you can get a nice browse through the cards.
