The writing carries it. Rosie handing over a seed-cake and asking your name "in the tone of someone filing it permanently" is a great line, and picking which of the two dice to move by gives every turn a small real choice.

One layout bug on desktop: the friend card gets cut off. On the browser build at the default 1024x768 embed size, clicking a friend chip in the sidebar (Rosie, in my run) opens the card at the chip's left edge, about 97 px in. The card is at least 240 px wide (min-width), so its right edge ends up around 337 px, but #hdr is only 300 px wide there. #hdr has overflow-y:auto, which turns overflow-x into auto as well, so the right side of the card is clipped mid-word and a horizontal scrollbar shows up under the sidebar. Any window 1024 px or wider gets the same thing, since the sidebar is a fixed 300 px at that breakpoint.

A likely fix: render the card outside #hdr (a portal with position:fixed, placed from the chip's rect), or cap its width to the space left beside the chip.
