This is a GENIUS idea for a game! I love the concept of guiding the spirits around the board to the glass. It was a real challenge trying to separate the good and bad spirits too.
I think it would be cool if it was hard to tell which spirits were good and which were bad. Maybe you could hint at the spirit's character and backstory so it's up to the player to decide which are allowed into the glass. Just a suggestion though.
Loved this entry! Very well done :)
A really great game! I love the art style, and I really enjoyed playing it.
This is the best puzzle game out here, but I wish there were be more levels because I was having a blast playing this game. I really love the concept this ouija game, guiding only good ghosts to give the friends answer. And the puzzle was fantastic, level 3 was so hard for me, took me alot of time. One thing I'd suggest improving in the endless mode. It should spawn trees in random positions every time you lead a ghost in to make it harder. Because I realized I could just place tapes around the trees and guide the good ghosts through them over and over again. I managed to get 11 points before realizing I could probably keep doing this forever, so I just quit lol.
Overall, this is the best puzzle I have played in this jam, the artstyle is quite unique and interesting
Btw, I found a bug in level 3 where the ghost can go into this corner and leave the area, and leave you with only good ghosts
Thank you so much for the big feedback! This is really helpful stuff!
It was pretty clutch with the deadline, creating levels and expanding the core idea in interesting ways. The tree spawning is such a good idea I didn‘t even think about. Playtesting the endless level did show a lot of room for improvement for sure, like for me the ghosts could be guided on a long path but guiding them right was only possible with few trees.
We also talked a lot about max length of tape (which we limited) and max amount of tape (which we didn‘t limit, yet tm).
So overall I am happy with how everything turned out within the time frame and there‘s a lot to explore with the idea!
I wish there was a Web build.
PS: The developer made a playthrough for those interested in the game. I liked the idea and the setting. The 3D assets were adequate, but I thought the game mechanic of corralling the ghosts could've been made more interesting. The sounds were spooky enough, but I thought the music missed the mark.
Very cool idea for a game and the graphics were amazing! Especially even due the pixellation and dithering, the game was easy to read and easy for the eyes! Controls were solid and soundscape worked really well!
Awesome job!
The idea is interesting. I liked the puzzles — I think I’ve seen something similar, but not in first-person. The shader looks cool. I really missed some kind of speed-up (when you already know the solution but still have to wait a long time for the ghosts).
What an interesting and charming idea! Loved the puzzle aspect it really kept me invested. well done!
Delightful little puzzle! Very charmed by the glowly outline shader effect, makes for a distinctive look. Props to the audio as well, the little dialogue bits are a cute distraction while puzzling, and the tape sounds are just 👌
Hello fellow ouija board gamedev, your game it's kinda great, i like the aesthetic and the puzzles, great entry!
Yoooo this was really unique! it was very fun! I really like how the hands look.
Could use a setting for volume tho.
